A chilly day today so I’m wrapped up in this gorgeous leather jacket by Oakwood, which I bought in a flash sale. It has material inserts in the underside of the sleeves and down the sides of the jacket which gives it a bit of stretch.  I decided on suede boots rather than leather to vary the texture. These chunky-heeled platforms are from Office, where you can pick up some amazing  discounts in the sale. The skinny jeans are from Gap and the scarf from Asos. The purple suede bag is by Ri2K and just adds a pop of colour.

Leopard print Zara dress

I felt like livening things up a bit today with some animal print. This dress is from Zara and cost about £10 in the sale last summer. It’s light enough to wear in warmer weather with sandals, but looks equally good with boots and tights in winter. These black Faith boots had been languishing under the bed at my mum’s for some years – ever since a trend for ridiculously pointy-toed footwear prevailed. But fashion is a fickle creature, and suddenly thanks to the seventies revival and the likes of Marc Jacobs featuring square-toed boots, they seemed much more appealing. The black bag is by Ri2k, and I’m wearing a simple gold-tone necklace and a big faux pearl ring.

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Striped Skirt

Today my outfit seems to match the sky – blue and grey. The grey and navy stripe skirt is Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, which I bought from my-wardrobe.com in the sale recently. It’s so light, it seems to be almost weightless, which would make it a great piece to take on holiday…however, unfortunately I had to return it for a refund as the hem was coming undone. I loved the design and colours of the skirt but sadly the quality was a disappointment. The navy jumper is from Zara and the grey suede boots are from Office. I’ve accessorised with a triple-strand bead necklace which belonged to my grandmother.

Sometimes you just need colour, especially in the depths of winter, and today was one of those days.  The red and light grey print jersey dress is by Star by Julien Macdonald at Debenhams. It came with a thin grey belt but the belt loops are too high for my long torso so I decided it looked better without. The thick grey tights and grey wedge platform ankle boots (from Office) keeps the outfit appropriate for the chilly weather, although I’ll get plenty of wear from the dress with sandals in the Summer months. The red leather bag is by Juno, which I bought from TKMaxx.

Animal prints have been everywhere just lately, in fact they never really disappear off the fashion radar completely, which is just as well as I’m a huge fan. The dress I’m wearing today is from Marks and Spencer. The colour adds an interesting twist on leopard print and puts me in mind of the red velvet leopard print dress by Marc by Marc Jacobs, but this is a fraction of the price. I’ve teamed the dress with faux suede boots in a berry shade. They cost £10 in sale about five years ago from New Look and have been languishing under the bed. My gold-coloured necklace is from Wallis, and I bought the brown leather bag from a wonderful little shop in Sorrento, Italy, called Gloves…because, you guessed it…it sells leather gloves, as well an amazing array of bags, purses, belts and shoes in just about every colour. Ah, I just love the smell of leather.
