We had a little taste of Spring today with the weather, so I couldn't resist wearing a colourful dress. It was warm enough for short sleeves but I'm not quite ready to bare my legs yet, hence the boots and tights. I've been very wary of wearing mustard in the past, but it seems to suit me since I started dyeing my hair red. It's a shame the dress creased so easily – I had to get the worst out with a hand dryer! I couldn't decide whether to wear the bracelet or the bangle so I wore both. Who said less is more?!

I was in a very indecisive mood today regarding what to wear, so I played safe and went for  head to toe black (I'm just biding my time until the weather warms up and I can break out the pastels and prints). To toughen up my outfit and make it a bit more interesting I chose my Oakwood leather biker jacket and wedge platform ankle boots from Dune to go with the pencil skirt (See by Chloe) and basic jersey top. The red leather bag from Juno just adds a much needed splash of colour.

The beauty of the classic wrap dress is that it is flattering to all shapes and sizes and (the best bit) is adjustable, which is just as well because this emerald green and brown dress (Rise from House of Fraser) is a bit big for me now.  I’ve had it packed away for a few years but I love the colour and the style so much, particularly the delicate seed beads on the bottom half of the dress. Determined to get more wear out of it, I managed to tie it really tightly and secure the neckline with a safety pin.  Long brown leather boots (Jones) and a brown leather handbag which I bought in Italy, keep the colour scheme simple. I’ve added a metallic flower necklace  and a bronze-toned bracelet (both Christmas gifts) as finishing touches.

The focal point of my outfit today is this silver glass heart and pearl necklace. It's just the right length for the neckline of the dress, and I particularly enjoy wearing it because I made it myself with beads bought on ebay. I've been making a lot more of my own jewellery just lately because I love being able to wear something unique without paying a fortune for it. The grey dress is by Ingenue purchased on Brand Alley. The red leather bag is from Juno and I'm wearing my favourite black ankle wedge boots from Office (both seen before in previous posts).

Marks and Spencer jade green frilled

Despite the freezing weather I managed to dive outside without a coat long enough to take a few pictures of my outfit today. This Marks and Spencer jade green frilled top has been sitting in the back of the wardrobe for a few years since the last time I wore it. I’ve kept the bottom half simple and streamlined with a plain black pencil skirt from See by Chloe. The leather platform ankle boots are from Dune and the leopard print and black leather satchel is from Asos. The silver and crystal panther ring is from Royal Ring (purchased at and the tanzanite and opal ring is a holiday souvenir from Mexico – I love the colours so much I had my nails done to match!
