Back in December when I was doing my Christmas shopping I took advantage of a special offer at the Estée Lauder counter – all this for just £50 with any fragrance purchase! I wanted to try the products out over a period of time before posting a review, hence the slight delay! Starting off with a positive – I love the mascara, so much so that I've just repurchased it. Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara (beauty companies do love long-winded names!) lengthens and defines lashes without clumping. This set included a full size mascara, which at £22 shows what brilliant value it is. I really enjoyed using the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover but at £19 for 100ml I don't think I'll be buying this one again. I've never seen the point of spending big bucks on an eye makeup remover when there are some brilliant budget ones out there. The eye pencils are fantastic quality – the Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner in Blackened Black is my absolute favourite eyeliner. You can read my review here.
These eye and cheek palettes are really handy to pop in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day and the set even included a handy little wallet to put them in.
Smoky Plums Deluxe Eye and Cheek Palette
The Smoky Plums set has some really vibrant colours. However I think navy and purple are maybe just a bit too adventurous for me! Out of the two I definitely prefer the Soft Neutrals palette, it's perfect for summer with the lovely Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzing Powder. I've used the two eyeshadows in the top left of this palette (Pink Flash and Hot Cinnamon) every day. These are firmly on my repurchase list.
Soft Neutrals Deluxe Eye and Cheek Palette
The lipsticks are really good quality, but to be honest none of the three are what I'd call my ideal shade. The Tiger Eye Shimmer (middle) is my favourite of the three but I prefer to wear it toned down mixed with some clear gloss as it's a little too intense and "metallic" on me, but it would look amazing on darker skintones.
I'd tried the shimmer lip gloss before in a different colour and loved
it but lost it on holiday, so I was really pleased this set included
one. The consistency is just right – not too sticky or too sheer and the shimmer effect is subtle. The Plum Divine shade is beautiful but I found it a touch too dark worn on its own as I prefer a more neutral lip lately. However, I've started using it on top of a nude lipstick which adds a nice finish.
All in all I'm really pleased I bought this set and I'd definitely take advantage of an offer like this again. Have you tried any of the products in this set? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
