Matalan heart jumper

One of the things I love most about autumn is going for long walks and picking blackberries. Apparently it's a good year for them too so I'll be taking full advantage of the bumper crop and doing lots of baking, as well as looking for sloes to make sloe gin for Christmas!

  Pink frilled M&S top

Colour plays a big part in how I decide what to wear. Some days I want to wear yellow, others only red will do, but today I was feeling in a pink kinda mood. It doesn't happen very often but when it does I usually reach for this bag/shoe combination.

Pink shoes

Top: M&S, trousers: Asos, bag: Jasper Conran for Debenhams.

Do you have a rainbow wardrobe or do you prefer more muted tones?

Latest in Beauty Glamour Power List box

I was very happy when this little box of beauties arrived this morning. When it became available to order I didn't hesitate as I know I will use every item. I'll be saving the Eyeko wipes and mini Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for my next holiday but I couldn't resist swatching the Nude Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. I was surprised by how pale it is, in fact you can barely see it on my arm in the last photo.

Mustard asos trousers Reiss purple silk blouse

Summer may be over but that doesn’t mean the bright colours have to be packed way until next year. In fact autumn is the perfect time of year to wear jewel tones – emerald, ruby, amethyst and sapphire hues all look glorious against autumn foliage.

I already had these trousers in black and navy, and as they have proved to be such useful additions to my wardrobe I decided to buy them in mustard too. Although it’s quite a bold colour I find it’s really rather versatile – it looks great with cobalt but can also be paired with navy, black, brown or grey for a more understated look. I made the most of the September sunshine by wearing a loose silk blouse and sandals in shades of purple.

I really like this colour combination. What do you think?

Gap boyfriend jeans and silver trainers

Today's outfit post is what I wore on a family day out to Cbeebies Land at Alton Towers earlier this week. Comfort was uppermost in my mind when I got dressed that morning as I guessed (correctly) that there would be a lot of walking and queueing involved!
