Do you ever just pop in to Superdrug for a couple of things and emerge with a bag full of stuff? Well that’s what I did recently, but amongst my splurge I picked up some fabulous beauty bargains. Now I really did need some new lip liners (honestly!) and the Max Factor stand caught my eye with some lovely autumnal shades. When I swatched them in the shop I was really impressed by how smoothly they glide on. With minimal pressure they transfer even colour on to the lips perfectly. You might think that a softer lip liner wouldn’t have much staying power, but after I swatched these on my arm (scroll down for the picture) I tested them by rubbing vigourously with my finger – they hardly budged. Now that’s what I call impressive! They won’t break the bank either at £4.99, and Superdrug are currently running a 3 for 2 offer on cosmetics. Happy days!

My other amazing bargain was these MUA lipsticks. Costing only £1 I didn’t have very high expectations, but they are fantastic for the price. The colour pay off is great, and the texture is smooth and creamy with a slight glossy finish. They might not have the greatest staying power but for only £1 you can’t have it all! I like that you can see the colour in what looks like the lid, but is actually the base, which is very useful if you have more than one shade of the same brand knocking around your make up bag. The only slight gripe I have is the scent as I do prefer lip sticks to be fragrance free. Shade 9 is a pinky brown with a slight shimmer that looks quite metallic on, while Persian Rose (a new shade in the range) is a lovely, creamy bright pink.
Top: shade 9, bottom: Persian Rose.
Have you tried anything from the MUA range? If so did you like it?
Thanks for reading. Happy Friday!
