I like to keep my skincare simple. Let’s face it – not many of us want to spend half an hour at each end of the day applying lots of different potions and lotions. Along with a good cleanser and moisturiser, one skincare step I never skip is serum. I’m always up for trying new ones, so I was more than happy to receive the Sönd Revitalising Face Serum and Hydrating Face Spray to review.
Sönd’s mission is to improve the lives of people with sensitive skin. The name derives from the middle of the German word ‘besonders’, which means special. The products contain Silica – a powerful mineral that is naturally present within our bodies. It’s an important substance that maintains our overall health. An average adult excretes between 300-400 mg of silica per day but our bodies only take in about 50mg from the food we eat.
Silica plays a vital role in skin health:
I started using the serum about six weeks ago, morning and night, and I still haven’t used it all up. I’ve been using the recommended two pumps, which is ample for face and neck, so it’s lasting a lot longer than I expected. I also used the hydrating face spray until it ran out. The two products work really well together, as using the spray first enhances the absorption of the serum.
The texture is light and absorbs really easily. I have definitely noticed an improvement in the texture and overall appearance of my skin. It feels and looks plumper and more hydrated. Usually at this time of year my skin gets quite dry but so far I haven’t experienced any dry patches or redness. My skin feels soft and dewy, and makeup goes on much more evenly.
The Sönd Revitalising Face Serum costs £42 for 30ml which I think is exceptional value for such a fantastic product. Serums cost considerably more than moisturisers because of their potency. They are made up of smaller molecules that can penetrate deep into the skin and deliver a very high concentration of active ingredients. Over the last couple of years I’ve tried a fair few different serums and have yet to repurchase any of them, but I will definitely continue to use this one. If you want to try out the Sönd skincare range you can buy a starter kit for £25. There’s a 30 day returns policy so you can shop with confidence 🙂
