Every so often skin needs a reboot, especially if you have more mature skin. While a good daily skincare routine is vital, a more intensive treatment can completely rejuvenate the complexion. Usually these treatments require several trips to a clinic, and can be very costly, so I was thrilled to test this product from Vivderma. I previously tried the Detox Elixir Serum and Restoring Moisturiser which I loved, so I had high hopes for this treatment.
The Vivderma Cellular Recovery System is a clinically-inspired four-week intensive course of concentrated retinol, which promotes cell renewal and boosts collagen. By bringing new skin cells to the surface and removing dead cells it reduces wrinkles, increases firmness, clears blemishes and age spots, and also brightens photodamaged skin. It’s a multi-faceted anti-ageing treatment, designed to repair and renew the complexion.
Over the four-week course, the concentration of retinoid in the treatment is increased from 10% to 40%. This allows the skin to gradually adjust to the product and helps prevents irritation. Retinol is a vitamin A product, which has powerful anti-ageing benefits. Just two drops applied at night time to clean skin is all that’s required, making it really convenient and easy to use. After only a few days I could see an improvement in my skin – in fact my husband asked me what treatment I’d had…praise indeed!
By the end of the course my skin was significantly improved. I’ve been wearing less makeup and feeling much more confident about my complexion. After trying countless different salon treatments which only deliver short-lived results, I’m delighted with the difference this has made; a few weeks after completing the course the results are still evident. Small but potent, the Vivderma Cellular Recovery System has given my skin a much needed overhaul, improving firmness and tone while reducing fine lines.
While using any product containing retinol, it’s extra important to remember sunscreen to protect the fresh skin cells. Due to the intensity of the treatment it’s recommended that the course be repeated up to three or four times a year, depending on skin requirements. I plan to repeat the course over the Summer, and again towards the end of the year.
The Vivderma Cellular Recovery System costs £195, which admittedly is quite pricey, but when you consider you’ll get more than one round of treatment out of it I’d say it does offer good value for money. I can’t tell exactly how much is left in the bottles but I think there’s enough for at least one more course, and that’s with accidentally dispensing more than the recommended two drops some days. Plus, it delivers impressive results within the comfort of your own home and takes about 30 seconds to apply. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
