Floral Print Bomber Jacket With Hot Pink Accents + link up

Floral Print Bomber Jacket With Hot Pink Accents, Lanretro head tie

As we head into Winter the decreasing amount of daylight presents a challenge for me. I can cope with crisp autumnal days when it’s cold but the sun is bright. But those days when it never really gets light truly suck. While the run up to Christmas keeps me occupied, I know the really tough month will be January. Oh how I dread it. So I need to lift my spirits by wearing bright colours and soaking up the sunshine whenever I can. Nothing like starting how I mean to go on. (My blogger friend Anna has written a great post on coping with SAD, pop over to Anna’s Island Style for a read.)

This floral print bomber jacket just happens to match the head tie perfectly!

My neon pink roll neck sweater is just the ticket for lifting me out of my seasonal slump. I’ve previously worn it with a zebra print mini skirt, but this time I’ve teamed it with navy. This floral print bomber jacket just happens to match the head tie perfectly! It’s from Marks & Spencer, although I bought it on eBay. It’s great for milder days when you don’t want to wear a thick coat. But, it’s roomy enough to layer a thick jumper underneath if it is a bit chilly.

I like the vintage vibe the head tie gives to the outfit. I’ve been wearing head bands a lot lately, but this is my first attempt at wearing a head tie. (If you need some tips, Suzi of Alternative Ageing is the lady to go to!) This one is from LanRetro, which sells clothes and accessories inspired by the 1950s.

…in total I’m wearing four preloved items!

I added some big blue hoop earrings and oversized sunglasses, plus a big flower ring that I found in a charity shop. The skirt is another charity shop bargain, and I bought the bag years ago on eBay, so in total I’m wearing four preloved items!

Does wearing bright colours help boost your mood too? If you have any other tips on staying happy throughout the Winter please let me know!

I love, love, love this outfit! The pink top and purse are such a luscious shade of pink and the jacket draws all components together. The headband is so cute! Pinning!

Ugh! I’m sorry you have to deal with SAD. I don’t suffer from SAD per se, but the shorter days play havoc with my fibromyalgia. I do think it helps that I live in area which is almost always sunny. (Las Vegas, Nevada)

  17. Emma, this outfit is so wonderful! I love all the pinks combined with the blue for a lovely bright way to approach a Winter’s day. January is the worst for me as well because my husband is always gone for work that month and it just snows and snows and snows and I have to deal with that all by myself. Ugh. But my blogger friends keep me cheerful all through the long, cold Winter days!
