After wearing my saucy postcard dress in my previous post I’ve been on the lookout for more vintage style dresses. I came across Rosegal recently and was cock-a-hoop to see so many classy dresses with a vintage twist. As well as the more classic styles of dress, Rosegal also has a huge range of sundresses and beach clothes.
I’m particularly drawn to the 1950s swing dresses as they’re a very flattering style. I’ve recently added a couple to my wardrobe and can see myself picking up a few more over the Summer. The halterneck rockabilly dresses in fun prints are perfect for garden parties and weddings. Plus, they help balance out wide hips by accentuating the shoulders, which is an area of the body that doesn’t carry much fat.
Rosegal has a huge range of vintage style dresses, all at a very affordable price point. The selection I’ve picked out are all under $30, and some are less than $20. One useful bit of advice: whenever ordering clothing from overseas, particularly the Far East, it’s vital to check the size guide for each individual item. The sizing varies for each garment, so even if you know you’re a US 6/UK 10, you may need to go up a size when buying from overseas. Returning items can be awkward and costly, so it pays to take a few minutes to measure yourself. Get it right and you can bag yourself a fabulous retro style dress for a song!
