Capturing Wonderful Holiday Memories, The Gift Experience persoanlised slate phot frame

I’ve been quite holiday-focused on the blog recently (counting the days until the next one!). The weather has been shockingly bad here in the UK, so it’s only natural that thoughts wander to memories of sunny holidays and plans for future trips. If you’re anything like me you snap photos left right and centre with your smart phone, but rarely do anything with them other than upload to social media. We seem to have moved away from displaying them in frames, which I think is a shame.

Recently, I’ve been making the effort to organise my photos and put some in frames to bring a bit of life to the walls.  After all, what’s the point of taking nice photos if you don’t put them on display? When I was invited to select a personalised keepsake from The Gift Experience I was really spoilt for choice. They have so many stunning photo frames that you can personalise.

I chose this beautiful slate photo frame to coincide with our wedding anniversary last month

The Gift Experience is a family-run business based in Shropshire, that offers a wide range of personalised gifts. The vast majority of their gifts are engraved and printed in-house. You will find something for any occasion on their website, including jewellery, toys, photo albums and so much more. I chose this beautiful slate photo frame to coincide with our wedding anniversary last month. We don’t have many wedding photos, and the few we have are not displayed in the room we spend the most time in. But now, we have this stunning personalised frame hanging where everyone can see it.

As the frame is made from a natural material each one is unique, with slight differences in the surfaces and edges.  They may even contain elements of Pyrite (also known as Fool’s Gold). The two lines can be personalised with up to 25 characters each. I did consider having our wedding date engraved on the frame, but then I realised I’d struggle to fill it with so few wedding photos to choose from! In hindsight, I wish we’d hired a professional photographer. But given the circumstances, I’m just glad we got there at all.

I’ve selected snaps from various holidays – all taken in Barbados, our favourite place

You may remember the saga of us missing our own wedding in Barbados due to the Icelandic volcano erupting. Because we had to rearrange it for almost a month later, we really struggle to remember the date of our anniversary! Quite fittingly, the frame arrived on our 9th anniversary – May 20th, I think…only joking! Maybe I should have had the date engraved on the frame after all! (You’ve probably noticed the different name – Peach is my maiden name).  It took a while to organise the photos I wanted to put in it, but it was worth waiting for. I’ve selected snaps from various holidays – all taken in Barbados, our happy place 🙂

Funnily enough, a couple of months ago I was contacted by a journalist from Swiss magazine Annabelle about us missing our wedding. She had stumbled upon my blog post and obviously found the whole episode intriguing! You can read the article here. It’s in German but you can use Google translate.

The slate photo frame costs £29.99, which I think is a great price for such a lovely gift. A single photo option is also available for £18.99.

Do take a look at The Gift Experience website, there are so many fabulous gift ideas for any occasion 🙂

It’s absolutely stunning, and very original. I’ve never seen a slate frame before.
