Finery Shirt Dress + Style With a Smile Link Up

Since first trying out a shirt dress just over a month ago I’ve become a fan of this versatile wardrobe workhorse. They are ideal for the fluctuating temperatures we experience at this time of year. When the weather is on the cool side, tights and boots are the perfect option. For warmer days I’ll be wearing this Finery shirt dress with a pair of elegant shoes, like the embellished ones I wore in this recent post.

I love the mix of colours in this shirt dress, which gives me plenty of options for accessories.

The shirt dress was one of several Finery items I bought from Secret Sales. I picked up some incredible bargains – this dress was only £13! The top of the pockets sit on the waistline so there’s no need for a belt, and although I wouldn’t want to stuff the pockets I could easily fit my phone and credit card in them without creating an unflattering bulge. I love the mix of colours in this shirt dress, which gives me plenty of options for accessories. I decided to pick out the burgundy as the main colour as I knew these knee high boots would work well with it. To balance out the colours I chose a lime green bag to highlight the green accents in the print of the dress. The dark blue crystal necklace from Eternal Collection (seen previously here and here) finishes off the look.

Are you a fan of shirt dresses? It can be tricky to get the right fit so I’d love to know what you think! It’s link up day so please share what you’ve been wearing 🙂

Thanks Nancy! Yes I’ll try wearing this one as a cover up with jeans, and maybe over tailored trousers as it’s not too long.

Finery has been popping up in my Facebook feed for a while – I thought it would be quite expensive so I couldn’t believe the discounts at Secret Sales. I like Brand Alley and Cocosa too for big discounts on good quality brands.

Absolutely love it! Especially the colours. I do love a shirt dress but have yet to find one that I love enough to spend my money on. But if I did have one, I’d definitely wear it with boots and tights in the winter and sandals in the summer.

I DO love shirtdresses! I like to belt them so that my waist is defined. Yours doesn’t need one, though – you look fab! The print is so unique, too!

Thanks Roxanne! Luckily the pockets do away with the need for a belt…and I do love pockets!
