Mistral Cardigan and Leaf Print Skirt + Style With a Smile Link Up

Mistral Cardigan and Leaf Print Skirt

I’m fully embracing Autumn now, which is just as well really as the weather certainly seems to have forgotten all about Summer. Digging out all my coloured tights and ankle boots has been quite enjoyable. Ankle boots are a huge trend this A/W so I’m well prepared with my ample collection. That won’t stop me buying more though πŸ˜‰

This Mistral cardigan and leaf print skirt is so appropriate for Autumn.

I’m gradually shifting my wardrobe towards more autumnal tones. Even though the temperature is fluctuating quite a lot, generally it’s now cool enough for knitwear and boots. This Mistral cardigan and leaf print skirt is so appropriate for Autumn. The leaf print captures the season perfectly, while the trim on the bottom of the skirt matches the amber green colour of the cardigan.

We’re used to seeing dark florals coming through at this time of year, but I think the leaf print is a great alternative. The mix of colours in the skirt provides several options for tops and accessories. If you prefer a cooler colour palette you could opt for a pale blue top.

If you’re wondering where the name of the cardigan comes from, just take a closer look at the buttons…

The Swans Are Swimming cardigan is a lovely soft mix of cotton, acrylic, polyamide and wool. It’s not at all itchy like pure new wool so you don’t need a layer underneath. For size reference I ordered a 12 because it’s not a stretchy fabric, and while it fits perfectly on the bust, it is a little loose around the waist, but I actually like the relaxed fit. Plus, when the weather gets colder I can comfortably wear a thin vest underneath. If you’re wondering where the name of the cardigan comes from, just take a closer look at the buttons in the photo below πŸ™‚

As the outfit combines a multi-coloured print with a bright top, I chose navy boots, bag and hat.

The cord crinkle leaf skirt is a very flattering length, falling just below the knee. I have a couple of other cord skirts, so I know that they tend to cling to tights. Even though this skirt is lined it does still pucker a little so I need to buy a slip (a trip to M&S is in order!). As the outfit combines a multi-coloured print with a bright top, I chose navy boots, bag and hat. I bought this bag with a gift voucher I was given when I collaborated with Laura Ashley back in July. It’s a very useful size and can be worn across the body. The tassel is a fab detail. Navy jewellery completes the look!

Such a lovely cardigan, Emma! I love the colours too – they’re perfect for the Autumn. I’m still waiting for the cooler weather to arrive here in Portugal though lol. Although, having said that, the evenings and mornings are a little chilly which is utter bliss <3

What a wonderfully cozy looking outfit for autumn. All those textures and knits make me long for cooler weather but that won’t happen here for several more weeks. It may rain a bit this week though so that’s a start. Thanks for sharing and hosting.
