I love the off the shoulder trend that’s been absolutely everywhere over the summer, but it can be a tricky look to pull off if you’re curvy. I’ve tried loads of tops in the search for one that fits across the chest but doesn’t hang like a sack on the waist. I was determined to find “the one” before Summer fades away, so I was delighted when I found this off the shoulder chambray frill top at Asos. It’s a very pale blue, almost an off-white, which contrasts well with dark denim but would also look great with red or pastel-hued jeans.
The material is lovely and light so it’s perfect for hot weather. It isn’t stretchy, and it is quite snug on the bust but the ruffle cleverly disguises that. The thing I love most about the top is the straps because I feel a bit too exposed with some off the shoulder tops…they might only be two small straps but they make a world of difference for me!
It’s not often I try something on and don’t want to take it off, but that’s how I felt wearing this top. In fact I kept it on for a rare child-free evening out with my husband, even though common sense told me not to if there would be food involved. Typically we ended up going for a curry (bad move, I know) and yep, I spilt food on it! Thankfully a soak in Vanish Gold got it out after everything else had failed. Phew. Next time I’ll either wear black or a bib.
Top: Amy Lynn at Asos, jeans: Gap (similar), bag: Zara (this one has a detachable strap too, I also love this Aztec-style bag), shoes: Debenhams (old – these wedge espadrilles would go with so many outfits), sunglasses: Asos.

Emma, super cute outfit! And I really like the straps on the top. It is such a cute detail making the top a little different from all the other off the shoulder tops out there. And you are killing it with your accessories! Love them!

Off-the-shoulder trend is very comfortable to wear especially when it is a hot summer outside. Your flower sunglasses are just superb! Bijou looks very nice!
Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. I like the off-shoulders look, but I am too lazy to wear it. It’s so hard to keep it at the right position where it looks best.
You look beautiful in this cold shoulder top! I totally get what you mean about it making you feel more comfortable with the two straps, it doesn’t make you feel as exposed. I also love your sunnies, the floral details are so pretty and add such a nice element to the overall look! Great styling, beautiful, and thanks so much for sharing!

I do like the OTS trend and I agree it is those straps that make this top more fun and special. Dying over all your accessories though: the daisy ring, daisy sunglasses, your bag and those shoes. They make the outfit for me Emma. And yumm I love curry food!
