Striped Statement Sleeves and Jeans

Striped Statement Sleeves and Jeans

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the statement sleeve trend. Even though they do make wearing a jacket tricky, frilled, flared and ruffled sleeves are guaranteed to elevate even the most basic outfit. This top is another fab sale purchase I picked up in Dorothy Perkins. The ties on the sleeves are a lovely detail…I just have to tie them before putting the top on because it’s impossible to do it afterwards! Having someone do it for you is preferable.

I love the combination of striped statement sleeves and jeans for a stylish yet casual look.

I wore this outfit for lunch with friends who were over from Australia. It was warm but not hot, and I wondered if I’d be needing an extra layer. With a jacket out of the question I took my fuchsia poncho from Hope just in case I was cold in the breeze, but I was warm enough without it. A sleeveless jacket or trench coat would also be an option for adding a layer to a top with voluminous sleeves. I love the combination of striped statement sleeves and jeans for a stylish yet casual look.

I added my Azuni tassel necklace and matched the red of the flower appliqué with my bag. My trusty Clarks gold espadrilles are proving to be Summer wardrobe staples, they go with everything!

Are you a fan of statement sleeves? Or do you prefer cold shoulder tops? I’m keeping it short today because I’m off to visit family 🙂 Have a great day!

  8. Fabulous top! I love the trend but it’s not practical for my work.

Can I be a fan of both because I am!?! I seriously love those fun statement sleeves though, the fact that your top is both striped and with embroidered flowers. The bow ties on each sleeve are the icing on the cake, too.
