I thought I’d make the most of the mild autumnal weather by wearing a tropical print top and brightly coloured trousers…before the temperature nose dives. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of opportunites to wear tights and boots over the next few months! I’ve got these Asos peg leg trousers in several colours now, but purple is probably the boldest.
I was searching through my wardrobe looking for a top to go with them when I remembered that I had this Karen Millen tropical print top stored away with the tag still attached! I must have bought it three or four years ago, but I just never felt it looked that good on me. Until recently, I had an aversion to T-shirts or tops with cap sleeves because I thought they made me look chunky on top. But I’m now quite a fan, provided the fit is good. If they aren’t too baggy or too tight and show some waist definition I think they look great paired with tailored trousers, jeans and even a full skirt. The print of the top has some lime green in it so I chose my very old Jasper Conran bag and a neon chunky bangle to compliment it.
Top: Karen Millen, trousers: Asos, bag: Jasper Conran for Debenhams, shoes: Nine West, bangle: Wallis.
