B moisturisers and serum

If you’re looking for high-end skincare on a budget then read on, because today’s post is all about a fantastic brand which is exclusive to Superdrug. ‘B.’ is a range of anti-ageing skincare which is divided into four phases according to age:

Phase 1 (20’s and 30’s) focuses on preventing the signs of ageing and hydration.

Phase 2 ( late 30’s and 40’s) is aimed at boosting radiance and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Phase 3 (late 40’s and 50’s) targets deep wrinkles whilst firming and repairing the skin.

Phase 4 (late 50’s onwards) nourishes and protects skin, claiming to improve elasticity, brighten skin tone and stimulate collagen.

When I first discovered the range I tried the Phase 3 B. Restored Night Cream. I was so pleased with the results that I had to try some of the other products from the brand. Luckily there was a half price offer so I purchased both the Phase 2 B. Active Day Cream and Phase 3 B. Firm Day Cream, the B. Flawless Targeted Wrinkle Filler, and the B. Radiant Rejuvenating Serum.

Now we are often bombarded with adverts for creams and serums claiming to reduce wrinkles, firm and plump up the skin, and generally make us look younger, but they don’t always deliver the results we’re looking for. Well I certainly wasn’t disappointed with these moisturisers – in fact I’d go as far as saying they are some of the best I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a quite a few!

B skincare moisturiser

The B. range uses a cocktail of anti-ageing ingredients in high concentrations which you wouldn’t expect to find in a drug store brand: Hyaluronic Acid, which helps skin retain moisture to keep it plumped up; Tetrapeptide 21 to boost firmness and elasticity; Celligent, to repair sun damage, and SPF to prevent further sun damage.

After only a few days I definitely noticed a difference in my skin, it looked more plumped up and radiant, and my skin tone evened out. The Phase 3 creams are thicker in consistency than the Phase 2 creams, but both improved my complexion. I recommended it to my mum and she loves it, so much so that she’s asked for some more for Christmas. Luckily, B. have recently added the fourth phase to the range for late 50’s onwards so that’s perfect timing! But let’s not neglect the men in our life –  he probably won’t thank me for writing this but my husband started using the night cream and even he thinks it makes a difference! A ringing endorsement from a man who used to think all creams are the same!

I used the B. Radiant Rejuvenating Serum twice a day alongside the moisturisers until it ran out. I enjoyed using it and I think it improved my skin further. For the price (£13.99) it’s great value and I would repurchase it. I wasn’t sure about the B. Flawless Targeted Wrinkle Filler at first because the instructions say to apply it after foundation and before powder. I found it a little tricky to apply without disturbing my base but I think maybe it just needs a very light touch. It’s like a silicone-based primer that you apply after foundation rather than before, and it produces similar results. In all honesty I think I’d rather just use a primer but I’m going to perservere with it until it’s all gone.

Superdrug have really come up trumps with this brand – it’s affordable, fantastic quality and there’s a full range of testers in-store.

As well as skincare, B. also have an extensive makeup range – all cruelty free and suitable for vegans. I haven’t tried the make up yet but next time I’m in Superdrug I’ll be stocking up!

The Phase 2 B Active Day Cream is £11.99; the Phase 3 B. Firm Day Cream and B. Restored Night Cream are £13.99 each; the B. Firm Targeted Wrinkle Filler is £7.99 and the B. Radiant Rejuvenating Serum is £13.99*…but Superdrug have regular offers on the B. skincare range so it’s worth keeping an eye on the website for these.

Murad Environmental Shield and moisturser gift set

If you read my post a couple of weeks ago about the Murad Environmental Shield Starter Kit then you might remember I was a little miffed when it arrived.  The 50ml pot of Hydro-Dynamic Moisture I was expecting (after I used a code in the December issue of In Style magazine) wasn't included and I was sent a 7.5ml instead. Well, out of the blue a package arrived for me containing not only a full size 50ml pot of the moisturiser, but another Environmental Shield Starter Kit! What a lovely surprise! So high fives to Murad for such a lovely gesture. It was like Christmas arrived early 🙂

Have a lovely day,

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish special edition

As much as I adore the original version I couldn’t resist trying out the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish limited edition. I was a little curious about the combination of sweet orange and mint as I wouldn’t have put the two together, but the result is a wonderfully fresh and uplifting fragrance.

It costs £19.75 for 150ml* and two muslin cloths are included. Packaged in a lovely drum container, it would make a perfect Christmas gift. In fact, I bought an extra one to give to my mum as she’s a Liz Earle fan too. If you prefer the original there is a Christmas edition which is packaged in the same type of container and also costs £19.75.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Limited Edition

Of all the cleansers I’ve tried over the years, Cleanse and Polish is the one I go back to time and time again.  I really enjoyed using this Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Limited Edition in sweet orange and mint. In fact, I was a little sad when it ran out. I’m hoping we see more limited editions from Liz Earle, and maybe some becoming permanent fixtures!

Are you a fan of Cleanse and Polish? Have you tried this limited edition? I’d love to know how you rate it.Thanks for reading, have a lovely weekend!

October skincare haul

A change in the weather calls for a skincare rethink and this month I’ve got plenty of new products to try out. The best thing is they were all incredible bargains! My local Factory Shop is selling Sanctuary skincare at rock bottom prices, with gift sets at just £6 and moisturisers and serums for £5. Naturally I snapped up a few items for myself and I may well store a few more away for Christmas presents. I’m most excited about trying the 30 Day Youth Revolution…I love those peel-off face masks!

The cherry on the cake was this gift with purchase for spending £20 on skincare. I wasn’t expecting it, but it was a nice surprise at the checkout!

skin-groupon-offer

The second amazing skincare bargain I bagged is this set from Sk:n which was a Groupon offer. The bundle is said to be worth £140 and it was being offered on Groupon for just £25.  I had never tried the brand before but for that price I thought it was worth a punt.  The only slight downside was I had to collect it from one of the Sk:n clinics as home delivery was not an option. Luckily there is one a short tram ride from where I work near Manchester so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, especially for that price. There were different options to choose from depending on skin type. I opted for the anti-ageing set which should have included a neck cream, but they had run out of that so gave me a cream to treat mature and sun-damaged skin instead. Included in the set is a voucher for £25 off a treatment at the clinic. I’ll be testing out all of these products and posting a review soon!

Have you tried any of these products and if so what did you think to them?

Thanks for reading!
