Over the years I’ve tried a lot of skincare products, some great and some distinctly average. (We’ve all got those half-finished pots and bottles gathering dust in the bathroom haven’t we?) However, every once in a while I discover a gamechanger, which is what the Trilogy Age-Proof skincare system is for me. Trilogy kindly sent me five products from the range: the cleanser, toner, serum, oil and eye cream. After just a few days I could already see a difference in my skin. I’ve been using them for a couple of months now and I’m blown away by how good they are.
Having Covid really floored me for a couple of weeks and I fully expected my skin to suffer badly. When I have a cold my complexion looks grey and feels really dry, however, I’m convinced these products saved my skin from the ravages of Covid. Even though I felt awful for a while, my skin didn’t really suffer at all.
“When New Zealand sisters Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot discovered the powerful benefits of rosehip oil for skin, back in 2002, they created Trilogy and took natural skincare into the future. Originally a range of five rosehip skincare products, we now craft over 40 incredibly effective natural alternatives to synthetic skincare, body care and hair care, and sell them in over 20 countries around the world.
“Bringing the power of nature to ageing skin, our latest ingredient innovation, Glycablend™, fights glycation, which causes healthy collagen fibres to harden and lose their elasticity as we age. Glycablend™ helps to keep skin supple, healthy and radiant. We don’t like the term ‘anti-ageing skincare’. We think age and experience are to be valued, but we’re happy to help you age-proof your skin with our Age-Proof serums, night creams and other Trilogy Age-Proof products.”
The sisters behind Trilogy say their formulations are created for women who want to live beautiful, not complicated, lives.
For me, the cleansing step of my skincare routine is the most important one; if you don’t cleanse your skin properly it won’t be able to absorb any serums or moisturisers you put on it afterwards. However, you don’t want to strip it of its natural oils, which will cause irritation. It’s a fine balance, and one that not many cleansers achieve in my experience. For years, I used Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but more recently I’d been using a supermarket dupe. This Trilogy Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream has blown those out of the water. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best cleanser I’ve ever used. It has a very subtle scent, which combined with the smooth texture makes it feel like a luxurious salon treatment.
After only a few days I could see a difference in my skin. Thanks to the active fruit enzymes, jojoba esters, vitamin E, it looked clearer, smoother and felt much softer. A few weeks later I noticed further improvement and needed less coverage from my foundation. I’ve used more than half of the cleanser now (I had to stop Isobel from using it!). I even decanted some into a smaller container when I went on holiday because I couldn’t be without it! The cleanser costs £27 for a 200ml bottle.
I’m a fairly recent convert to toner – I just never saw the point in using it until I added it to my skincare routine about a year ago. Now I hardly ever skip it. This Hydra-Tone Softening Lotion is not like a typical toner; it’s a gel-lotion consistency that feels very comforting and calming on the skin. Known as ‘nature’s moisture magnet’, plant-derived hyaluronic acid plumps skin to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The marshmallow conditions, while ylang ylang helps restore the skin’s PH balance. White tea delivers antioxidant protection and mulberry helps to brighten the complexion. The Hydra-Tone Softening Lotion usually costs £20.50 but is currently on offer for £14.35.*
No skincare regime would be complete without a serum. The Nutrient Plus Firming Serum is a light, non-greasy formulation, containing hyaluronic acid and aloe vera help to plump skin, plus liquorice and mulberry to brighten. Glycablend™ helps to keep skin supple and radiant. It absorbs really easily and comes in a handy pump with a twist lock. The serum retails at £31.50 for 30ml.
I love a nourishing oil before bedtime, especially during the colder months. The CoQ10 Booster Oil is intensively nourishing. It boosts collagen and elastin production while protecting against free radical damage. Tamanu, macadamia and black caraway seed oils plus antioxidant co-enzyme Q10 help to feed and renew the skin. Glycablend™, a potent blend of chia, blueberry, strawberry and pomegranate oils, keeps skin supple and youthful.
I’ve been using a few drops on my neck at night as well as my face. My skin is definitely firmer, especially on my neck which is becoming crepey in places. Although I’ve been slapping the SPF on my face for decades, I haven’t always been as diligent with my neck and decolletage…I’m really regretting that now! It’s great to finally find a product that helps to remedy that. A 20ml bottle of CoQ10 Booster Oil costs £31.50. A little goes a long way, so it’s great value for money.
The Age-Proof CoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate is enriched with hyaluronic acid, caffeine, Glycablend™. It also contains the jojoba-derived super ingredient L22®, which mimics the lipid profile of your skin at 22 to support a firmer, more youthful appearance. The tube has a cooling applicator that feels amazing to use. The formula is light, refreshing and absorbs really easily. I instantly feel more awake after applying this concentrate and notice firmer, brighter under-eye skin. The Age-Proof CoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate costs £26.50 for a 10ml tube.
After using the Trilogy Age-Proof skincare system for a couple of months now I can honestly say that it works and I’m going to stick with it. I’m so happy with both the results and Trilogy’s ethics; these products contain only natural, organic ingredients, no synthetic fragrances and colours, no GMO ingredients, no petroleum, silicone oils and derivatives. And most importantly, Trilogy does not test on animals. I think the prices are fantastic value for such high quality ingredients and formulations. I’m looking forward to trying more from this range. I will report back on those in due course!

it’s great these products work so well for you! there’s a lot of anti aging skincare around at the moment but I’m not really interested in that!
Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂 Thankfully the rain has stopped here!
Oh these products sound decent to be sure. And I like that they do not test on animals. Thanks for the heads up!
