On the eve of the Autumn Equinox it’s sadly time to bid farewell to Summer. I say sadly because it’s my favourite time of year. Even if the weather is disappointing at least we have the light well into the evenings, which makes taking blog photos so much easier! I decided to make the most of the late Summer/early Autumn sunshine by wearing yellow. A lot of yellow. In fact I could have worn even more if I’d chosen my bright yellow bag but I thought that’d be overkill. When I first got this yellow floral print skirt I wanted to wear it with an emerald green top to pick up on the green in the centre of the yellow poppies. I trawled the internet but despite my best efforts I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for.
The skirt is very flared so it needs to be paired with a fitted top to get the proportions right. I have a black top that is the perfect style and fit for this skirt – a snug-fitting vest with a deep V neckline – but I just felt that black was a bit heavy. I wanted something more colourful. Eventually I found this dark yellow Jane Norman top at House of Fraser, which is a pretty good colour match for the flowers. I still managed to work a few specks of emerald green in with the ring and bracelet, which I bought around 25 years ago! I just love these yellow patent shoes with the jewelled ankle strap. The pointed toe is perfect for a flared midi skirt, and they are quite comfortable too!
Skirt: Romwe* | top: Jane Norman | shoes: Carvela (similar, and I love these too) | bag: Michelangelo (similar) | ring: Kenneth Jay Lane (similar) | sunglasses: Roberto Cavalli (similar)
*I was gifted the skirt, all opinions are honest and unbiased.

Thank you Jaymie!
You are such a perfect picture in this outfit. I love everything about it. Your jewellery could have been bought in 2016, so they survived very well. The skirt has my big love and so does the bag. Well everything really.
I was still wearing summer clothes last week, but this week it is getting chilly. So I am in transition. No more real summery things. Well.. it is end of September, no biggie. And it is still not raining .

Thank you so much for your kind comments Greetje! The weather has really turned now in the UK, I’m missing Summer but I have a holiday to look forward to in a few weeks 🙂
That outfit looks fabulous! Emerald green would have made a big pop with that skirt. I hope you can keep looking and find one!

Thank you Jess! I keep looking but can’t find exactly what I want. I’m thinking maybe a green tankini top would make a good substitute. I usually find something on eBay but have drawn a blank so far.
