I’m sure you all know by now how much I love jewellery, right? I have a huge collection, but mostly of the costume variety. It’s not often I get to play with (and wear) the real deal, so when I was kindly invited to a Dinner and Diamonds event with John Pass jewellers I didn’t need asking twice… especially when they told me I could wear any of the jewellery on display during dinner!
Following the champagne reception we had ample time to peruse the beautiful jewellery and take photos. I chose to wear a black dress that would allow the jewellery to take centre stage. And I soon spotted the perfect necklace – a stunning diamond beauty with a price tag of over £25k! I always did have expensive taste 😉
It felt quite heavy to hold but almost weightless on due to the impeccable design. The necklace has a concealed clasp so appears seamless. I really didn’t want to take it off! Somehow I don’t think Santa will be leaving this for me on Christmas morning, more’s the pity. But a girl can dream!
John Pass Jewellers was founded 70 years ago and is now one of the most prestigious jewellery and watch stockists in South Cheshire and North Staffordshire. In the era of online shopping it’s reassuring to see a small, family-run business thriving. Talking to fellow guests over dinner it’s obvious there is very much still a place for local, independent jewellers. And when it comes to making an investment purchase why would you go to a faceless online company?
Buying from a reputable, local company means you can try on different pieces and get specialist advice. Plus, it gives you peace of mind that should you need any after care you can easily return to the shop. We bought my engagement and wedding rings from the same independent jeweller in Nottingham, and returned there regularly to have them polished until we moved. Great service and sound, honest advice leads to repeat business. It’s as simple as that.
The cocktail rings particularly caught my eye – I love a bit of bling!
During the dinner (they provided me with a delicious vegan meal) we chatted with the other guests on our table, all of whom were absolutely lovely. As the event was in Stoke (which is where Pete’s from) he had plenty to chat about. (John Pass has shops in both Newcastle-under-Lyme and Crewe, which is our nearest town).
Everyone (men included) we encouraged to try on the jewellery and swap it between courses. Pete declined but I was in my element. As well as the show-stopping necklaces I also wore a tennis bracelet with graduated tourmalines that looked like a beautiful, sparkling rainbow on my wrist. Unfortunately I didn’t get a good photo of it, but trust me, it was fabulous.
John Pass also stocks more affordable brands, such as Pandora, Clogau and Jersey Pearl, so you don’t have to be a lottery winner or premiership footballer to shop there!
Disclaimer: I was invited to the event in exchange for blog and social media coverage. All words and opinions are my own.
Oh what a fabulous event, Emma! How fun that must be to wear all that gorgeous jewelry! I don’t think I have ever worn anything with a price tag like that! You look beautiful and totally in your element!
