Happy Wednesday! How’s your week going so far? I’m a day late posting the link up this week because I’ve been struggling with this horrendous cough. I was at work yesterday and I was completely shattered due to the broken sleep. That medicine that was supposed to knock me out didn’t really do anything. I will increase the dose tonight to see if that works.

I love this combination of ’70s style stripes and frills…

Anyway, I couldn’t resist trying on my new blazer and vintage blouse at the weekend. I love this combination of 70s style stripes and frills in sunny yellow and orange! I’d been looking for a vintage yellow blouse for ages and finally found one on eBay. Not only does it have frills, but also an amazing dagger collar and faux pearl buttons with a little diamante stone! It’s a little bit snug on the chest and one of the buttons has popped open a couple of times…oops! The frills do a good job of hiding that though.

…to get this blazer for just over £20 was an absolute steal!

A couple of days after I bought the blouse, I saw this blazer heavily discounted on the The Hippie Shake website. You probably know how much I love their designs, so to get this blazer for just over £20 was an absolute steal! (There were still some left when I last checked). I hung them on the same hanger and immediately saw an outfit coming together. At first, I tried blue trousers to pick out the blue in the stripes, but it seemed disjointed. Then I tried these orange trousers that are part of a suit and instantly preferred them.

For a more toned down look I could wear the jacket with dark brown trousers or jeans and a polo neck jumper. In warmer weather I’ll layer it over a T-shirt. For its debut appearance though, I had to go all out! I finished off the look with white boots and bag and the latest addition to my hat collection. The earrings are some I made from polymer clay a while ago; this is the first time I’ve worn them. I really enjoyed making them so I’ll have to make another batch in different colours.

How would you wear this jacket? (Or maybe I should ask if you would wear this jacket?) I’d love to hear your suggestions!
