I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring and wearing lighter colours…yet here I am in browns and oranges! Wearing autumn colours in spring might seem a bit topsy-turvy, although chocolate brown is still very much on trend. We’ve had a few days of lovely sunshine, but the forecast looks gloomy for the next week or so. Fool’s Spring isn’t fooling me! And just to hammer the point home, I’m coming down with another cold.
This coat isn’t particularly warm but it’s a nice fit and works well with darker browns and burnt orange. The trousers are part of a suit, although I haven’t worn the jacket yet. I’ve previously paired the trousers with a brown cardigan, but on this occasion I’ve opted for a waistcoat and satin bow blouse. The waistcoat isn’t by the same brand, but the shade match is pretty good. I picked it up in the River Island sale recently for a bargain price. The blouse is one of several I own from Hawes & Curtis. I like the slightly fitted style and soft fabric. One thing I’m not keen on though is the fiddly buttons! I need reading glasses to see close up now!

I don’t mind autumn colors in spring! Love the vest and pop of print underneath. Thanks for the link up Emma!

I love the idea of wearing autumn colours in spring—it’s such a great reminder that we don’t have to stick strictly to seasonal palettes.
Fantastic colours! That waistcoat looks very good on you, especially with the blouse. It’s cold again here too, such a shame, I had the hope spring came early, lol. Yeah, for a week!
This is a wonderful spin on a corporate look – soft tailoring, a gorgeous print and striking colours x
I would call your outfit as warming up to spring, Emma. Out with the dark heavy coats and boots, if with the later warmer colours and accessories. Whatever you call it, you look very stylish:) Anna https://lookingfabulousat50.blogspot.com/
I love the colour of your jacket!!

Thank you for featuring my post. I appreciate your support.
This is a great color combination for a bridge season outfit, and the browns and oranges look so good on you! I love the waist coat. It has such unusual details, with the square collar and the gem buttons. We are having a roller coaster of a spring here, too. Yesterday it was in the 70s and today-I can hardly believe my eyes, but it is snowing again! very difficult to figure out what to wear. Thanks for sharing and hosting the link up, and hope you have a good rest of the week and weekend!
I think these are your colors, Emma! You just sparkle in them. I think we have gotten used to certain colors for certain seasons because that’s when retailers have them. Love how you combined the brown with the colorful blouse! Thanks for the link up!
