I mentioned in yesterday’s Style Not Age post that I’d be back today with more colour. Well these bright orange trousers certainly pack a colour punch! I’d initially envisaged wearing them with the green blouse I wore in yesterday’s post but I’ll save that colour combination for another day. Instead I’ve chosen the (slightly) less controversial pairing of bright orange and tartan with a grey base.
I have a bit of an obsession with colourful trousers and coats. I’m convinced that colour can both reflect and influence your mood. Apparently orange is an optimistic and dynamic colour with a more balanced energy than red; less aggressive but full of vitality. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I rather like this bright hue; the trousers even got the thumbs up from the husband!
I’ve worn this jacket before with a black skirt for October’s Stylish Monday link up post. In fact I wore exactly the same jewellery and bag with it…well if it works why change it? With this pairing, the bright orange and tartan work well together due to the orange running through the pattern of the jacket. The grey jumper and ankle boots help ground the outfit and match the jacket’s base colour. I did have a pair of checked boots in mind but I decided they’d be too busy for this bold ensemble. Plus, my garden is like a bog at the moment so I needed chunky heels!

Loving that plaid jacket and it’s gorgeous with the bright pants!!! XO
Love this! I was just thinking a couple of weeks ago I wish I had some orange pants. Now I think I will actually look for some. Looks so good with your plaid jacket!
I’d wear orange in the form of those fab trousers but generally not near my face as it’s not one of my colours. I love these bright outfits in winter!
This outfit is stunning. You are right, orange is a great color. Interestingly it is so underused in fashion. Why is that?
Wow! Love everything about this look. That jacket is superb! And the trousers so elegant. Very cheerful look!
This is such a great look! I love the buttons on the pants and the color is fab on you! I need color in the Winter too- its been so grey here! That jacket is fantastic , love the plaid and it fits you to a tee! The sunnies look great too, love the shape. I am looking for a new pair, but need prescription.
Enjoy your day!

I LOVE this outfit! But then orange is my favorite of the warm colors. It’s been hard to find in recent years here in the States. (Most of my orange clothing, I’ve picked up on Poshmark.) Lovely!
