I bet I’m not the only woman who has a wardrobe fit to burst yet still opens it and struggles to pick an outfit, right? For work I tend to have a few outfits on rotation, even though there’s no dress code and I can wear what I like. But it’s easy to get into a rut and sometimes it feels like my work outfit choices are gradually diminishing simply because things get buried in drawers or hidden under heaving hangers.
So every now and then I like to take a load of things out and remind myself of what I have, and try to get more wear out of it. A good place to start was this jacket which I bought on eBay. It has a mix of browns, blue, teal and cream so it’s very versatile. It’s also a good quality piece as it’s from the M&S Per Una Speziale range.
I was going to wear a teal top underneath but the only one I have is very frilly and it looked too fussy, so I chose a simple khaki silk top instead. Mixing brown and khaki is not an obvious Summer colour combination, but I’m making a conscious effort to wear more of my clothes more of the time. Plus, these Asos trousers are great for work as they’re super comfortable and don’t crease too much.
I’m a big fan of a statement necklace but this top calls for something more understated. I don’t often wear a long necklace but I tried this one I’d bought years ago (but never worn) and to my surprise I really liked it. Inspired to do a bit more digging in the back of the wardrobe for forgotten treasures, I pulled out a pair of suede teal sandals with a yellow butterfly on – pretty but not all that comfortable! I bought the tan Ri2k bag on eBay too – I had it in black and used it so much that it started falling to bits! Now I like to rotate my handbags…I just have to remember to move all my essentials over too and not leave my purse or phone at home!
Jacket: Per Una Speziale (I love this one and also this cropped one), M&S, top: James Perse (this is very similar but I found a cheaper version), trousers: Asos (similar), bag: Ri2k, shoes: Bronx (I love the chunky heel on these sandals and these budget friendly ones with a lower heel and closed toe , necklace: Past Times, ring: Pia, watch: Lancaster (similar), sunglasses: Roberto Cavalli.
This looks great and so well pulled-together! I think we can all relate to having a full closet and “nothing to wear.” Thanks for linking up, xox

Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. You jacket’s pattern is very interesting.
I love all of these pieces. Such a great work outfit! That jacket is gorgeous. I really love the colors. And your shoes, necklace, and bag are wonderful! My closet also is stuffed full and I do have to reevaluate, rearrange, and purge every now and then. I usually do rediscover fabulous forgotten pieces when I do this! Purging is always a problem for me because I feel so emotionally attached to everything that I have ever purchased. But I am getting better!
Thanks for linking up On the Edge of the Week. I hope to see you again this Friday!

Thanks Shelbee! I know what you mean – I’m a terrible hoarder but I have done a mini purge this week. I’m hoping little by little I can learn to let go of things that don’t work for me anymore…I need to or I’ll have to buy a bigger house!
I love the long necklace with this! That blazer is gorgeous! I try to keep my closet under control with the one-in, one-out method. It gets really hard at times though!
Perfect work outfit and love the touch of fun with the necklace.
Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!
