Welcome to the latest Match Made in Seven! We are an international group of fashion bloggers who meet once a month. One of us chooses a theme which can be anything – a book, music, a color, a movie – and then we style an outfit based on that theme. This month Nancy chose the theme of favourite films.
I have to admit that I rarely watch films so this was quite a difficult one for me. It was actually my husband who came up with this suggestion, probably because Terminator 2 had been on TV a few evenings before. I’ve always liked Arnold Schwarzenegger, even though he’s not the best actor! But let’s be honest, Sarah Connor was the real hero in this film! She has to be my favourite film character – no Disney princess for me!
Sarah Connor doesn’t have many outfits in the film – she’s trying to save the world from Skynet and prevent a nuclear holocaust. This lady is dressed for combat! At the start of Terminator 2 she’s in a mental hospital (I didn’t want to recreate that look!) but rather the most iconic look of the film when she’s wearing black combat trousers, vest and boots. I don’t have any black combat trousers so I made do with jeans. We all have a black vest, so that part was easy. Sarah wore small round black sunglasses, but these oversized ones were the nearest I could get; I first wore them for our Ode to Iris Apfel challenge last May. You can’t really get further apart than Sarah Connor and Iris Apfel!
Interesting fact: Linda Hamilton’s twin sister Leslie Hamilton Gearren also made an appearance in the film when two Sarahs were required in the same shot.
Oddly enough I couldn’t get my hands on a machine gun or rocket launcher so I had to make do with a large water pistol – I use it to squirt the neighbour’s cat when it tries to attack the birds in my garden! I may not be saving the world but I’ve probably prevented the untimely demise of a few blue tits!

Ha ha, briljant! Didn’t know about the twin sister thing. She was cool hey, and she had some serious muscles!
I’m still working on the muscles!

That super soaker looks fun! Great interpretation and an unusual film choice (although I enjoyed them too….). Thanks for linking up at #WowOnWednesday!
