We all have our favourite colour combinations, right? Well, cobalt and mustard is definitely one of mine. The last time I wore these two colours together it was the other way round – mustard trousers and a cobalt top. When I bought these trousers in the River Island sale a couple of months ago I knew I wanted a mustard or ochre sweater to go with them. However, the only one I had was the bat wing sparkly number that I paired with my glittery skinny jeans. I know there are plenty of other colour options for these bright blue trousers, but when I get an outfit in my head I have to pursue it!
As luck would have it, I was browsing the Marks & Spencer outlet in the Lowry shopping centre on my lunch break when I found this jumper for £10. I don’t usually like ribbed jumpers but the gold frill edge sold it to me. I think it compliments the frill detail on the trousers rather nicely. My super comfortable Marks & Spencer shoes bookend the blue to bring the outfit together. So thanks to a lucky lunch time find I’m mixing cobalt and mustard again! I added a neutral bag that I bought in France from Scottage (one of my favourite French shops) on sale for 15 euros, and some fun acrylic earrings that I bought while waiting for a train at Birmingham New Street! You know I never miss a shopping opportunity 😉

Hi Emma,
this time I linked two posts – in one of them I show my dark blue dirndl with a shirt in mustard yellow. As you can see, I also like the color combination of blue and mustard very much.

This is a stunning look and color combo! I love to pair mustard yellow with black or tan. But I would love to try cobalt because I love that shade of blue! Thanks for the color inspiration.
