Do you ever have those days when you just don’t know what to wear? Well, this was one of those days. I try to plan my outfit the night before if I’m going somewhere, but I wasn’t that organised on this occasion. Consequently, I had to cobble together an outfit at the last minute. I grabbed these culottes and this T-shirt that I’d pulled out of a case while packing for my holiday last month. The T-shirt is a few years old now; I first wore it almost seven years ago – with the same necklace – and then again a year later.
In fact, nothing in this outfit is new; it’s good to rediscover old items that have been stored away and forgotten about. These orange striped culottes are great for summer – they’re lightweight, comfortable and make quite a statement with the bold print. I’ve featured them on the blog twice before (here and here) – both times with a black vest top. As I was in work, I wanted a bit more coverage on my arms and chest, so I opted for a T-shirt instead. There was a cool breeze so I added my denim jacket, which gives the outfit quite a casual look. To balance this, I added the beaded bib necklace, which elevates what is essentially a basic combination. Jewellery can really transform an outfit…I don’t feel fully dressed without it!
