I’m always looking for different ways to style my most worn clothes, which currently are trouser suits, jeans and jumpers. Often with suits, the only variation I come up with is a change of top and bag. When I chose this rust high neck jumper from Izabel* I knew it would be very versatile. As it happens, it matches the dark orange in the checked pattern of my Monki suit trousers perfectly.
I’ve worn these trousers many times with the matching jacket, but I decided to split the suit up for a change. As it was cold, I wore a dark orange coat over the top to go shopping. (I didn’t want to cover these fabulous sleeves up for the photos though.) I have a few jumpers and long sleeve tops with semi-sheer sleeves, which I find hit the sweet spot in cooler weather if you experience hormonal temperature fluctuations. Another thing I love about this jumper is how soft it is. I’m very fussy about the feel of fabric, but I’m glad to say this new addition gets top marks for both comfort and style. Izabel tends to run on the large size (I’m wearing a size small).
Previously, I’ve worn either orange or purple trainers with these trousers. Just for a change though, I opted for light brown Speedcats to compliment the tan bag. I finished the look with my purple agate ring and some polymer clay earrings that I made a couple of years ago.
It’s been quite an exciting week. I got the results back from a heritage DNA test which I did a few weeks ago. (I’ll share more on that soon.) As I mentioned in last week’s post, me and Isobel went to see Justin Hawkins Rides Again at the local theatre. We had a photo taken with him which was emailed to me a couple of days later. (I’ve added it further down the post.) He said he loved my outfit and wished he’d made more of an effort! (He did change for the show!) I always feel amazing in that suit, that’s the power of great clothes!

Thank you Kathrine!
Thanks for hosting again this week! My link this week is not exactly style related but I am in the photos wearing my new FAVORITE gently thrifted winter coat that I am completely obsessed with. Have a great week.
Thanks very much for stopping by Amber!
I can see why Justin said he needed to dress better when compared to you! I love that suit! You look smashing in this sweater with these pants. I love how you mix and match your suits. I think that’s the beauty of having print suits rather than just plain ones…you can mix and match! Thanks for the link up!

Thanks Marsha! Justin did get changed for the show, into a very cool suit and hat. He said he’d been asleep in a van on the journey!
I love it when a jumper has a bit of xtra. Great sleeves! And what a lovely photo of you and Justin!
Thanks Nancy! He was so lovely, really down to earth and open about everything 🙂
Love this combo, the sleeves are so pretty. Great that you got a photo with Justin! x
Thanks Gail!
These pants are fun!

Thanks Jennifer!
I can’t wait to hear about your DNA test! I’ve always wanted to do one of those. Love those fun pants!
Thank you! The DNA test also matches up to any distant relatives and shared family tree. It’s fascinating to find out more!
Love the sleeve detail on your orange sweater and how great it looks with the check suit pants. It must have been thrilling to meet Justin! He looks well put together, but nothing can hold a candle to that retro floral suit! Very interested to hear about your DNA test. I took one several years ago and my ancestry turns out to be very, very boring. Thanks for the link up and hope you have a great week!
