How are you all doing? As predicted, the UK is now in a kind of lockdown – we can still go out for a walk/run once a day, shop for essentials and go to work (if you’re classed as a key worker). I’m quite a homebody anyway so being housebound isn’t too difficult for me (I might have changed my opinion in a couple of weeks though!). And I’m still working on an ad hoc basis (public service broadcasting must go on!) so that helps to break the boredom. The roads are very quiet which has reduced my journey time. I’m trying to stay focussed on the positives.
Thank you for the lovely comments on Sunday’s post, they really cheered me up 🙂 I was stuck for ideas about what to buy my mum for Mother’s Day (the UK celebrates it on a different day to the USA). But in the end I decided to get her a new mobile phone – a proper smartphone to replace the antique model she’s been using for years. I’ve spent ages on the phone talking her through how to use it, but with some help from my sister-in-law we have it up and running with Skype!
Something else we’ll be doing a lot of in the coming weeks is shopping our closets. But that’s a good thing, right? Better for the environment and our finances! I bought this matching top and trousers during Scotch and Soda’s sale last Summer. I first wore it on the blog at my Dad’s in France; it was a lovely warm day so I didn’t need a jacket. It’s still quite chilly here at the moment despite the sunshine so I teamed the Scotch and Soda co-ord with a mustard biker jacket. It’s a really warm and soft faux suede fabric with a fleece interior. (I’ve previously worn it with tartan trousers).
The mustard shoes and burgundy crossbody bag also pick out the colours in the print. For a more practical option I’d swap the heels for trainers or flat sandals in the Summer. Who knows what kind of Summer we’ll have this year? I’m keeping everything crossed that we’ll be over the worst by then.

Love your pants and the pops of mustard! We are in a similar situation with having to stay home with just the occasional walk, weather permitting. Like you, I am somewhat of a homebody too, so I am enjoying just getting some extra time to read and watch movies! Hope you’re doing well!

Thank you Katie. I’ve got a list of jobs to do so hopefully by the end of these restrictions my house and garden will look a lot nicer! Stay safe xx
So in love with this burgundy/yellow color combo! That jacket is perfect with the pants. Thanks for the link up!

Thank you Kathrine! xx
Wow, I love that color combo, Emma! The burgundy co-ords with the flashes of mustard look amazing with that coat! Beautiful. Of course, you DO have the shoes for it! lol! I do find it limiting to be so tied to home but have plenty to do, so I’m taking things a day at a time. Thanks, Emma.
xx Darlene
Thank you Darlene! I have lots of things to do around the house but to be honest I’ve found it hard to focus. I hope that will settle down and I can make progress on the house and garden. Take care xx
We are on our second week of shelter in place, and as an extrovert, it has definitely been a struggle for me. Thankfully my friends have been super creative about getting together, doing Zoom calls or Google Hangouts. I do miss being able to go out for a drink though! All in good time 🙂

It’ll be interesting to see if this has any lasting effects on how we behave. I suppose that depends on how long it lasts for. I miss being able to go shopping without worrying about germs and also pottering around charity shops looking for bargains. And of course I miss seeing family and friends, but I’m still working a couple of days a week so I do see colleagues…from a distance! Thanks goodness for tech so we can all stay in touch!
This is a real sunshine look and just what we need thanks Emma. Self isolating apart from essential shopping, hardest thing is cutting ourselves off from family but thank God for telephones, Facetime, Skype etc. I am very positive but of course can’t help being anxious. This is certainly a time when we should express our love to each other even more than usual! Take care and keep well xx
Thanks Pamela. Yes Skype is essential right now – I managed to get my mum set up with a new phone and she now has Skype 🙂 I will just have to keep reminding her to leave the phone switched on! Stay safe xx
Yes we definitely safe money now! Scotch and Soda is a great brand isn t it! About the weather, it s getting really cold here next week! Like winter temperatures! What?? Hate that! Stay safe my friend!
I had frost on the car this morning! Yes I love Scotch and Soda. I thought I would save a lot of money but so far I seem to have made a lot of online orders – mainly essentials, but also a few beauty products and a couple of accessories in sale. Old habits die hard!
Emma, this outfit is bringing me new energy for my own daily style! I love the colors and the print and that fabulous mustard jacket. I have not gotten out of sweatpants in over a week since our quarantine began. I really need to make more of an effort, but it has been so cold here, too, that I have just been cozy in my sweatpants! Stay safe and healthy!

Thanks Shelbee! I’ve been slobbing out in my sweatpants a lot! At least by still working a couple of days a week it makes me get dressed properly! Stay safe xx
Gah, I forgot to say than you so much for the feature! What a pleasant surprise. I am always so honored!

You’re very welcome 🙂
Another fabulous outfit that will be wonderful in the next few weeks – that’s if we are out of lock down! Hope you and the family are staying safe and well. Thank you for hosting today. Jacqui xx
Thanks Jacqui! Let’s hope we’re over the worst of it by the start of Summer. I hope you and and your family stay safe xx
I love your outfit and you look so darling!

Thank you Edwige xx
What a gorgeous pants outfit and I’m in love with the mustard jacket! You’ve accessorized it just perfectly, too. Those are some of the best colors together – burgundy and mustard. It’s been warming up here slowly and later this week it will be warm enough to be outside in shorts. I’m so ready for the summer. I hope you stay healthy. We’re all in that same sort of lockdown here though they’re not limiting us to one visit out of the house per day and I’m still going in to work for now. Thank you so much for the link-up and stay sane!

Lovely outfit! I like how the colors in the slacks were picked up so well by the accessories. Beautiful!
Great gift for your mom!

Hi Emma
Yes, we are on lockdown for 3 weeks, but I think it will be longer. It sounds like a great idea to get your mom a phone, especially now. Hubby bought my inlaws a Smart Display so we could send photos . Love the mustard and burgundy together, what a neat pair of trousers! The earrings look great with this look too!
I have shopped a bit for Spring, needing a pick me up!
take care, and thanks for linking!
