High Street Heroes | H&M Blue Spot Top and Matalan Pencil Skirt

It’s been said many times that the British high street is the best in the world, and who can argue with that? Whistles and River Island have just made their London fashion week debut, while Topshop Unique has been a regular since 2001. H&M will also make their Paris fashion week debut with a show at the Musée Rodin at the end of this month. So with the designer collections hogging the limelight I thought I’d wear some of my favourite high street heroes: this H&M blue spot top and Matalan pencil skirt.

The top was £12 (so I bought it in black too!) and the skirt was £14. While Matalan may not be the most fashion forward of shops you can find some real gems at fantastic prices there. This skirt is fully lined, doesn’t crease and I love the colours and paisley pattern. The red coat is J by Jasper Conran at Debenhams and the ankle boots are from Office. I’ve finished the outfit with a Temperley London bag, handmade bracelet and a gorgeous chunky silver ring from Pia.
