Style Not Age: Spring Greens

Style Not Age Spring Greens, Laura Ashley green coat, Pia flower brooch, Frontrow coated skinny jeans

Well it certainly feels like Spring, even if officially we’re not quite there yet. In meteorological terms (that’s as hard to say as it is spell!) March 1st is the start of Spring, but the trees and plants have other ideas. I woke up this morning to a tree in beautiful blossom but frost on the rooftops. These photos were taken in my mum’s garden by my little blog assistant, Isobel. Always super keen to help, she insists on getting my clothes ready and folding them up afterwards…so sweet 🙂 We had a lovely few days in Cambridgeshire, it always goes far too quickly.

I love wearing green because it’s such a calming, balancing colour, and it compliments red hair.

It was almost as if Jacqui knew what lovely, unseasonable weather we’d be having when she chose Spring Greens for this month’s Style Not Age theme. I love wearing green because it’s such a calming, balancing colour, and it compliments red hair. While I was at my mum’s I saw my regular hairdresser and had a couple of inches chopped off, which got rid of most of the heat damaged hair. I think I prefer it shorter actually, it’s much easier to manage.

I wore this coat two years ago this month, with the same brooch, but with a brown skirt and boots. This time I decided to add yellow accents which pick up on the print in this fitted blouse. Both the coat and blouse are charity shop purchases. I bought the Hawes & Curtis blouse along with two others in the same style late last year (you may remember I wore one of the others with the Pom Amsterdam jacket). They cost £3.75 each…what a bargain!

Hilda is also wearing a green coat and skinny jeans…great minds think alike! You can find out more at Over the Hilda.

I’m in love with everything Anna is wearing, especially the skirt. I would never have thought to put all of these pieces together but it works beautifully. See more over at Anna’s Island Style.

Jacqui is ready for the new season in a pretty floral print dress from Next. Head over to Mummabstylish for all the details.

What a beautiful color for a coat! I’m a fan of green too, and it’s not always easy to come by! I have never thought about how calming it is as a color but it’s so true!

I love the color of that coat! Unfortunately it’s not spring here in Wisconsin. We are still buried under 45 inches of snow!

Wasn’t this a great challenge Emma? I can’t believe that you got the coat and blouse in charity shops! The blouse is super and perfectly spring like too. How lovely that you have a little helper with your photography – very handy!
