Do you ever intend to workout, but just getting changed into gym clothes is just one more obstacle? Or want to go to the gym straight from the school run but feel self-conscious wearing lycra outside? Well, I’ve found the answer to that problem! Meadowlark make workout leggings that are not just for the gym. They are so incredibly comfortable, they feel like a second skin. Plus, they manage to combine super stretchiness with magical shaping powers. These leggings smooth out any lumps and bumps and streamline my legs. Bye bye pesky cellulite!
Meadowlark leggings are designed in the U.S, and printed and sewn by hand in Montreal. They use a special fabric called Eco Polyester that’s manufactured using 70 percent less water, heat, and energy than used in conventional textile creation processes, providing a more eco-friendly means to produce clothing. Each garment is made on demand, which reduces waste and helps keeps the production costs down.
The performance knit fabric consists of 88% polyester and 12% spandex to give a body-hugging, compression fit. Although they are described as yoga leggings I’d definitely use them for running too. The high waist adds to the comfort factor, and there are no protruding seams to cause chafing. Meadowlark offer a wide range of unique and funky prints that are colour-fast, so they won’t fade, even after repeated washing. I chose a muted print of tan and black to ensure I get maximum wear from them. (This design is available in other colour combinations).
For a sporty look I teamed the leggings with a simple black sweatshirt and Vionic trainers. This has to be the most stylish and comfortable workout outfit I’ve ever worn. You could layer a vest underneath, because if you’re anything like me you’d soon get hot and bothered exercising in a sweatshirt. The clue is in the name I suppose! The textile bag is actually my beach bag, but it’s big and sturdy enough to hold all necessary exercise paraphernalia.

SHOP THE LOOK
If you’re a morning workout person (I’d like to be but my circadian rhythm disagrees!) then a quick change of footwear and top is all you need to go from yoga class to lunch date with friends. I switched the sweatshirt for a lightweight jumper (worn in my previous post) and layered a long, slinky vest over it. Even though these leggings will make your booty look firm and perky, sometimes we still want to cover that area, right? Alternatively, you could wear a long T-shirt with a denim jacket for a more casual look.
The long wedge boots lessen the impact of the bold print, by adding more black. In combination with the long vest and pendant they create a lengthening effect. My newish Jennifer Hamley vegan leather KT tote bag is perfect for shopping, work and just about any situation really. Like the Model KT bags I’ve featured before, it includes a clutch that zips off, and it’s big enough to hold my 15″ laptop.
