There's something very satisfying about warm and sunny autumn days. The leaves are changing colour, the humidity of summer has been replaced with a freshness, and the knowledge that winter isn't far away makes me appreciative of any sunshine. As the monthly artisan market was in town at the weekend I popped along to enjoy the atmosphere and tempt myself with all the gorgeous cakes and handmade soaps. The highlight for me was discovering a new skincare range for sensitive skin and I treated myself to a bottle of facial oil (review to come soon). Apologies for using the C-word but before we know it it'll be time for the Christmas markets - how time flies! I probably won't have many more opportunities to wear cropped jeans and sandals this year, well not in this country anyway!

One of the first things you have to do when you move to a new area is check out the shopping opportunites (or maybe that's just me). So after driving by it on the way to work on numerous occasions it was time for a trip to the Trafford Centre. Flat boots and a bag that can be worn across the body are essentials for a serious shopping trip if you want to avoid blisters and an aching shoulder. Alas I didn't find much that I liked and only bought one top. Either I'm losing my touch or I'm getting fussy!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. I also have a Facebook page - if you fancy taking a look and "liking" it I'd be tickled pink! You can follow me on Pinterest too 🙂
As we move out of Summer and into Autumn it’s time to reflect on all the lovely things about the passing season. The sunflowers in our garden have to be one of the highlights of my summer. Yellow is such a happy colour, yet I avoided wearing it for so long because I thought it looked hideous on me. That was until I became a redhead. Something so simple as a change of hair colour made all the difference and it’s now one of my favourite hues.
I may mix up this outfit a bit in future by wearing some brightly coloured shoes…turquoise or teal would be a fun option.
Wearing the yellow top with black trousers and jacket creates a sharp contrast; it also reminds me of the bees that are so fond of the sunflowers. A black bag would have been too heavy for this outfit, particularly in the glorious sunshine so I’m doubling up the yellow with this roomy leather bag. I may mix up this outfit a bit in future by wearing some brightly coloured shoes…I’m thinking maybe turquoise or teal would be a fun option. My hair’s hiding my earrings but they have turquoise stones in them which pop nicely against the black and yellow.
