Handmade Sustainable Summer Dress + Style With a Smile Link Up

Handmade Sustainable Summer Dress, Hanova Studio Kay dress, Fenella Smith orange Izzie bag, Nala chunky resin necklace, Asos chunky lilac sandals, SkinnyDip London retro sunglasses

I’m so excited to show you my fabulous new summer dress! I was recently contacted by Hanova Studio offering me a made to order dress, which I was thrilled about. I didn’t know the design or fabric, I just gave my height and dress size…the rest was a surprise. And what a lovely surprise it was! As soon as I saw the pattern I knew I’d love it. In fact, I wasn’t planning on taking the photographs straight away, but once I put it on I didn’t want to take it off…so I didn’t! I grabbed my orange bag and hat, lilac chunky sandals and bob’s your uncle.

I’m absolutely over the moon with my new handmade sustainable summer dress!

The fabric is a gorgeous lightweight cotton that feels amazing on. The sleeves are gently elasticated and are the perfect length for me. (I’m not a fan of cap sleeves because they make my arms look thicker). It’s an over the head design, no zips or fiddly buttons…and it has pockets! That is such a huge bonus for me. This is how it came out of the box, no need for ironing, so I know it travels well. I’ll definitely be taking it on my next holiday. I’m absolutely over the moon with my new handmade sustainable summer dress! But I won’t just be wearing it in summer; when the weather is cooler I will add a cardigan and swap the sandals for trainers or boots to get maximum wear from it.
