When Liz Earle had a sale recently it was a chance to stock up on some of my favourite beauty products at a discount. After trying the Sweet Orange and Mint Cleanse and Polish Special Edition (you can read my review here) I was regretting not buying the other special editions before they sold out. Luckily the Orange Flower and Chamomile Cleanse and Polish was back in stock, and even better, was on sale for £15.75. Offers like this don’t happen very often so I was over the moon with my Liz Earle sale haul.
Admittedly, chamomile might not be a fragrance to everyone’s liking, and this Cleanse and Polish does have quite a strong smell of chamomile, in fact I can’t really detect the orange flower at all. Chamomile is known for its relaxing properties, so I use this Cleanse and Polish at night time, and use one of the other versions in the morning. I have to admit that it’s not my favourite version of Cleanse and Polish, but it is the perfect night time cleanser, particularly if you take a few moments to breathe in the aroma before applying it to your face.
When Liz Earle launched the bodycare range I received a sachet of the Vanilla and Saffron Silky Body Lotion in the post…I was smitten at first sniff! It has the most gorgeous, warm and comforting fragrance. Containing shea butter and avocado oil, it sinks into the skin effortlessly, leaving it smooth, soft and hydrated. I was really tempted to buy the full size when I first tried it, but at £15.25 it’s a luxury item and not exactly purse friendly. I was really surprised to see it in the sale, along with the matching Creamy Shower Nectar for £16.20 – they usually retail for £28.50 for the pair! I’ll be saving these for special occasions to eke them out as long as possible.
The nail polishes have been on my “to try” list for ages but I never got around to ordering any. This trio were on sale for £9, which is amazing value considering they usually cost £8.50 each. There was a set of four darker colours on sale for £13 but I already have lots of dark nail polishes. So with Spring (hopefully) not to too far away I opted for some brighter shades.
Moonlight is a very chic and contemporary grey-blue shade. Awakening is a pale salmon pink, the perfect shade for Spring, while Parade is a bright pink with a hint of coral, which would look fabulous with a tan. The Strengthening Nail Colour formula is enriched with avocado and borage oils, which claims to last up to 12 days. I’ll be testing these out on my toes to see if they withstand the rigours of running! The cherry on the cake was the free 30ml tube of the original Cleanse and Polish and free delivery!
Shades L-R: Awakening, Parade, Moonlight.
