Despite the freezing cold weather I decided to give my leather biker jacket an outing instead of a thick winter coat for a change. It’s also the first time in what seems like ages that I’ve worn a skirt, albeit with thick black tights…and I was still cold! This skirt from Asos has very deep splits at the side so I do have to wear thick tights; when it’s windy it can be very revealing!
A skirt this length needs either a very long coat or a cropped jacket, otherwise it just looks a bit haphazard. If I wanted to add more colour I’d swap the black leather jacket for a brightly-coloured faux suede cropped biker jacket. Or maybe one in a tartan or houndstooth print.
To give this outfit a little pop of colour I wore my new H! by Henry Holland faux fur scarf which I purchased in the Debenham’s sale. I love the bright yellow, even though my husband said it looks like a bumble bee! I suppose the combination of black leather and faux fur striped scarf does look a bit bee-like!
Jacket: Oakwood, scarf: H! by Henry Holland at Debenhams, skirt: Asos, bag: Modalu, boots: Lacey’s of London, necklace: Wallis.
