Lumity 4-in-1 Cleanse and Skin Nutrients Facial Oil Review

Lumity 4-in-1 Cleanse and Skin Nutrients Facial Oil Review

This time of year can be tough on the skin; cold winds and and spending more time indoors often results in a dull complexion and dry patches. Added to that are the Winter bugs and colds we have to contend with. Shortly after I was sent the Lumity 4-in-1 Cleanse and Facial Oil to review I came down with a chest infection, which left me feeling like death warmed up. My skin was grey and dehydrated, so my complexion really needed a pick-me-up.

“Your best age is now”

Lumity’s philosophy is one I wholeheartedly support: that “your best age is now”. Their website says: “When the body maintains optimum health, age becomes irrelevant to how well you live. Instead, you relish in your experience and wisdom and make your best age now.” I’m not a fan of the term “anti-ageing” because we all age; it’s nothing to be afraid of, and fighting against it is futile. It’s much better to embrace growing older and commit to ageing well.

Lumity 4-in-1 Cleanse

Lumity 4-in-1 Cleanse

The Lumity 4-in-1 Cleanse is a multi-tasking skincare hero that cleans, exfoliates, moisturises and acts as a face mask. It contains 31 powerful botanical ingredients, including activated bamboo, charcoal, biodegradable jojoba beads, green tea extract, camellia seed oil and a blend of essential oils. It has a lovely subtle uplifting and energising aroma.

The website says that you may feel a gentle warming sensation when you first apply the cleanser, which I did. This is due to the active ingredients starting to work. You can either use it as a cleanser and rinse it straight off, or leave it on for up to 30 minutes for a hydrating, clarifying and brightening masque treatment. As a cleanser it leaves my skin clean, refreshed and hydrated. However, when I used it as a masque it made a big difference to my skin; afterwards it was so smooth and soft, and it was noticeably plumped up with a more even skin tone.

I’m really impressed with this 4-in-1 Cleanse and will definitely buy another one. At £48 on a subscription plan (£55 as a single purchase) it’s significantly more expensive than my usual Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but a little goes a long way so I think it’s worth it.

I love using a facial oil at night time, especially during the Winter. Waking up with soft, moisturised skin makes applying makeup so much easier. Used alongside the 4-in-1 cleanser, this facial oil has worked wonders for my skin. Some facial oils are quite thick in consistency so you have to use quite a lot to cover your face and neck. However, Lumity’s Skin Nutrients Facial Oil spreads so easily, so I find I only need a few drops. I’ve been using it every night for about a month and, as you can see from the photo, I’ve barely made an impact on it.

I’ve tried lots of facial oils over the years and this is definitely one of my favourites

Lumity’s facial oil contains a scientifically formulated blend of the most high-performing natural plant oils and extracts, with absolutely no toxic or synthetic ingredients. I’ve tried lots of facial oils over the years and this is definitely one of my favourites. A 30ml bottle costs £48 on subscription and £60 as a single purchase. The subscription plan allows you to select delivery every 4, 6 or 8 weeks. Based on my experience, I would say that a 30ml bottle would easily last 8 weeks, probably longer. (You can pause or cancel the subscription at any time). I only use the oil at night, but you can use it in the morning too. I just prefer to use a cream moisturiser in the morning and an oil before bedtime.

I’ve been really impressed with everything about Lumity; when they first reached out to me it was to try the Morning & Night suplements. However, when I checked the ingredients I discovered that they contain bovine gelatine. Instead, I was offered the 4-in-1 Cleanse and Skin Nutrients Facial Oil to review as they’re both suitable for vegans. Lumity told me that the current vegan alternatives to gelatin are not robust enough to contain the formula without rendering the capsules too fragile. But, they say they are committed to getting this right and will be in touch as soon as a vegan-free alternative is available. That’s great to hear! In terms of packaging, Lumity use reusable glass bottles, refill pouches that are plastic-free and fully recyclable outer packaging.

Have you tried any Lumity products? If you have I’d love to about your experience with them!
