Personal style isn’t just about fashion, it’s about identity. Cultivating your personal style is less about following the trends and more about understanding what makes you feel confident, comfortable, and authentic. By tuning into your preferences and incorporating meaningful details, you can build a wardrobe that reflects who you are, inside and out.
With a little self-awareness and creativity, you can cultivate a wardrobe that feels intentional, empowering, and uniquely yours.
The journey to defining your personal style starts with a little wardrobe reflection. Start by taking stock of the items you wear again and again. Are you drawn to tailored silhouettes, flowing fabrics, or bold prints? Do you prefer a neutral palette or gravitate towards colour? Lay them out and look for similarities in fabrics, cuts, colours, and patterns. By identifying the common threads in your wardrobe, you’ll be able to describe your style in just a few words. Whether your look is “elegant, structured, and modern” or “casual, vintage, and playful,” these words can act as a compass for future style decisions.
A mood board offers a visual way to capture your style aspirations. Tools like Canva or Pinterest are perfect for pulling together images, colour palettes, and outfit inspiration. Think of it as a style vision board, something you can refer to when curating outfits or shopping for new pieces. Include textures, prints, and key pieces that inspire you. This board will serve as a visual reminder of your style goals and help prevent impulse buys that don’t align with your vision. Your mood board should feel like a blend of both inspiration and intention.

Accessories are where your personality can really shine, as they add definition, interest, and expression. Scarves, bags, sunglasses, or jewellery all help to add your unique signature to any outfit. They don’t need to be loud or trendy – just meaningful to you. Jewellery, in particular, adds depth and meaning to any outfit. Whether it’s a signature necklace, vintage brooch, or stack of bangles, the right accessory can elevate even the simplest look. Even diamond rings can be dressed up or down, making them versatile additions that effortlessly transition from day to night.

Trends can be fun to explore, but they shouldn’t overpower your individuality. There’s nothing wrong with incorporating trends, but let them complement your look rather than dictate it. Pick the trends that genuinely resonate with you and fit into your existing style. For example, if you love structured pieces, try pairing a trendy scarf top with a tailored blazer to keep it in line with your personal vibe. Being trend-aware while staying true to yourself is a great way to keep your look feeling fresh without compromising your identity. Balance is key – trends should serve your style, not override it.

Love these posts. They often elevate you to a next level of looking at your closet. Happy weekend Emma!
This is crazy. It’s like Wonder Woman dressing in a burlap sack. You have an INSANE body, yet you wear baggy things! You have gorgeous hair, yet, you wear a hat 80% of the time. Gorgeous eyes, yet, sun glasses (even on a cloudy day) on 60% of the time. Sometimes you wear tight things or skirts (gorgeous legs!) with stiletto calf boots (my favorite), but most of the time it is something that does not show you off like it should! Please, if not for me, think of the nation!
