It’s not long now until Mother’s Day (in the U.K), so if you are still stuck for ideas I may just be able to help. (I wrote about the reasons why the U.S and U.K mark the occasion on different dates in last year’s gift guide.) It can be hard to find the perfect gift – and just as difficult to think of something you’d like for yourself when put on the spot. (Apparently Isobel’s idea of getting me a stuffed toy pig was vetoed!) So I’ve put together a Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2023 for anyone stuck for ideas.
Jewellery and beauty products are always safe bets. Everyone loves to receive pretty jewellery, especially when it’s from a loved one. I’m sure you know how much I love animals…and anything featuring animals. I was recently gifted this beautiful sterling silver Jana Reinhardt Hummingbird necklace*. It’s a gorgeous, delicate pendant on an adjustable fine curb chain. Hummingbirds are believed to symbolise joy coming into your life and resilience, which is very fitting for a Mother’s Day gift. Engraving is optional for a small charge. There are also earrings, a ring and a bracelet to match. I was amazed at the range of animals, birds and ocean-themed jewellery available on the Jana Reinhardt website – there are even gorillas, rhinos and manta rays! (Oh, and there’s a pig too!)
I’ve got my fair share of statement costume jewellery, but lately I’ve been wearing classic pieces more, often layering them. This Monica Vinader Corda Fine Chain Friendship Bracelet would look great worn alone or as part of a stack. You could stick with the yellow gold theme or combine it with silver and rose gold. (Complimentary engraving is available on this bracelet.)

I love beauty boxes because I always find new products that end up becoming favourites. This Look Fantastic Beauty Egg is amazing value for money – £60 for products worth over £201!

All mums need a good night’s sleep, whatever stage of motherhood they’re at. From the early years of having a baby, to juggling work and young children at school, to coping with the teenage years and exam stress – they all bring their own challenges and worries. Getting enough rest makes us more resilient and able to cope with all of these stages of motherhood. The Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep Wherever! is the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. The blend of lavender, chamomile, and patchouli aids relaxation and helps you to prepare for sleep. I love using the Scent to Sleep™ range as part of my bedtime routine at the end of the day.

Sometimes we need a bit more help drifting off to sleep…which is where the QuietOn 3.1 Noise Cancelling Earbuds* come in. If you’ve ever stayed in a noisy hotel with people banging doors all through the night, a snoring partner or you work shifts and have to sleep when others are awake, noise cancelling ear buds are just what you need.
Designed by Finnish tech innovator, QuietOn™, these are the world’s smallest active noise cancelling earbuds that significantly reduce low-frequency sounds that often disrupt sleep including home appliances, street traffic, and snoring. The buds feature a transition period between hearing mode to noise cancelling. QuietOn 3.1 has a form factor so small that it fits entirely within the ears, making them comfortable enough for everyone, including side sleepers. The buds come with four pairs of eartips of assorted sizes. I often have problems with in ear headphones but I found the perfect sized tip for my ears to ensure a secure fit. The handy charging case provides 28 hours of active noise cancelling on a single charge.
Unlike white noise machines and other noise-masking devices, QuietOn 3.1 reduces the ambient sounds that would otherwise disturb a restful sleep by automatically generating opposite waveforms to nullify low frequencies.
While many other Bluetooth headphones emit electromagnetic fields (EMF), QuietOn 3.1 does not use transmitters, receivers, and other components typically found in music earbuds. The QuietOn 3.1 earbuds cost £249.
No Mother’s Day gift guide would be complete without chocolate! And there’s no reason for vegans or anyone with a dairy allergy to miss out either. Hotel Chocolat vegan chocolate is deliciously creamy. I’m a big believer in having a little treat every day…we deserve it after all!

I love the necklace. I want a tattoo and there will probably be a hummingbird in it.
So many great things!!
