Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re all doing well and keeping safe. I’ve been on a real vintage/retro kick lately; I find it much more satisfying to hunt for unusual one-off pieces than buying from the big retailers. This wrap dress was a recent eBay find. Most of the wrap dresses I have are quite thin and not really suitable for very cold weather. However, this one is is quite thick, almost like a long cardigan; layered over a thin roll neck top like I have on here, it’s actually a very warm outfit.
The snow has melted since we took these photos but it’s still very cold. I’m using it as an excuse to buy some gorgeous retro and vintage clothes, including another crocheted vest like the one I featured in yesterday’s post. This brown vintage wrap dress reminds me of something my Nan might have worn…well it is from the 70s! I do miss being able to browse charity shops and vintage shops IRL – I enjoy shopping online but I like to feel the fabric quality and inspect the finish on garments.
I’m actually enjoying wearing my winter wardrobe – I have lots of coats and boots so I can’t complain about having the opportunity to wear them! In some ways I find dressing for cold weather easier than dressing for the heat. Plus, one of my recent eBay purchases is a fabulous vintage Welsh tweed cape, so I want to get plenty of use from that over the next couple of months. I’ll be featuring it here very soon…it’s a beauty!

Emma, I love this dress on you! It is so 70s, isn’t it? I love having a good look around charity shops, I really wish we had decent ones here in Portugal though. I have bought loads of clothing from eBay in the past but I haven’t exactly been successful lol. I ought to give it another go, but I’m not sure how it will all work out what with Brexit now 🙁

You are right about it being kind of easier to dress in the winter: I feel it easy to add layers and I now have a nice collection of boots and sweaters and jackets while in the summer you can only take so much off. Especially that is is hot and humid in Georgia!

A wrap dress is one of my favorites and yours is no exception. I like to buy online, I have one site that I use for thrift shopping. But the best is to shop in real shops. Can’t wait to do that again.
