Happy Christmas Eve! Are you all ready…presents wrapped, food prepared? It seems to have come around very quickly (I’m sure I say that every year!). It will be a quiet one at home for us, just the four us, including my mother-in-law. It’s the first Christmas without mum, so that feels weird. Last year we were all together, along with my brother, sister-in-law and niece. Happy memories.
This Christmas polar bear jumper was mum’s, and was a gift from one of her closest friends. I wore it to the annual Christmas quiz hosted by the ladies who run a cafe in town. A goup of us mums (kids all went to primary school together) go every year. Eight of us split into two teams and it’s great fun. Me and my friend Val have been on the winning team three years in a row! She’s very knowledgeable about films and literature (as well as a lot else) whereas I’m usually quite good on the music and TV questions.
I did have a Christmas jumper with a flamingo on, but Isobel has taken ownership of it! Then I remembered this one that was actually too big for mum, but she always wore it at Christmas. She thought she’d lost it in the move, but I found it at the back of the wardrobe months later. It’s really good quality cashmere and feels lovely on. I will wear it tomorrow and raise a glass of non-alcoholic fizz to mum.

Merry Christmas to you, Emma! I’m glad you found your mum’s jumper so you could have part of her with you during your celebrations. All the firsts are difficult. Then, you begin to remember funny things that happened which helps a bit, too. You look lovely in this as well as that fun coat! Thanks for the link up!
