Happy New Year! I hope you had a great time celebrating the end of 2020! As you can probably tell from the photos, we stayed at home and did not much at all. We watched a bit of TV and listened to the radio. I played a game of Beetle with Isobel…did you play that game as a child? You throw a dice to get a certain number for a body part of the plastic beetle and the first to complete their beetle wins. It’s a very retro game, so very in keeping with my outfit!
I bought this suit from The Hippie Shake a few weeks ago. It’s from a limited edition and sold out when it first launched, but luckily they restocked it. The Hippie Shake is a UK company, run by a husband an wife duo. They started out as vintage clothing brand before launching their own limited edition vintage inspired collections. Taking advantage of the post-Christmas sale, I’ve since bought the waistcoat, neck tie and face mask to match. I love the print of this flower power retro suit so much! I’m really on a retro kick lately and have bought a few vintage pieces on eBay. I’ve layered a sparkly roll neck top underneath the suit and added some off-white square toe boots to complete the look.
I rarely make New Year’s resolutions but I’ve been wanting to get going with my YouTube channel for ages. Well, Isobel has been learning some basic editing skills and really wanted to make a video with me. So…she came up with the idea of my top ten favourite purchases/gifted items of 2020. She filmed it, edited it and uploaded it for me! Take a look – you’ll see this suit included in my 2020 favourites, as well as a couple of other vintage/retro pieces, plus some fabulous jewellery. I’m planning on learning to use a proper editing package and making more videos soon. I’d love it if you could subscribe!
