As September draws to a close, it’s time for our latest Style Not Age challenge. This month’s prompt fell to Anna and she chose “From Summer to Autumn”. I’ve mentioned transeasonal or transitional dressing a lot lately; it’s that time of year when it really does feel in between seasons. Some days it’s warm enough for just a T-shirt. But as soon as the sun starts to set, there’s a slight chill in the air. A light cardigan is my go-to layering piece. Usually I’ll wear it open, but I’ve buttoned this one up so that it looks like a jacket. I also like to see to see the gold buttons, which give it a more elevated look. I’m wearing a brown graphic tee underneath (seen in this post) so I could easily whip the cardigan off if I get too hot. That happens a lot!
I’d been wanting a pair of animal print jeans for ages, but hadn’t found the right ones. Then a couple of weeks ago I popped into Marks & Spencer while I was waiting for Isobel to take her driving theory test (she passed!) and found these. I had a special offer on my Sparks reward card, so how could I resist? They’re my favourite barrel leg style and are super comfortable. I’ll be wearing them all through autumn, winter and beyond.
I’ve completed the look with gold trainers and bag. Metallics go with everything, and I certainly get a lot of wear out of these. They tie in nicely with the gold buttons on the cardigan, keeping the look tonal in warm neutrals.
