I’ve featured a few polka dot outfits lately, and I feel like they’ve been building up to this crescendo! Well, there’s no point in doing something half-arsed is there, so I thought I’d just chuck everything at it. Goodness knows we need to have some fun with fashion during these rather testing times. There’s always the risk of venturing into Minnie Mouse territory when wearing head to toe polka dots, but I’m totally ok with that!
This dress is one of three polka dot pieces I bought in the latest Coast sale; I’ve featured the sheer puff sleeve top and high neck blouse over the last few weeks. There’s so much to love about this dress in addition to the polka dots: the deep pockets, wide matching belt, charming gold buttons and deep frill hemline. And it fits perfectly too. The fabric has a slight sheen to it which gives it a luxe feel. We had to use the flash when we took these photos as the light was starting to fade. Unfortunately that has shown up the creases…and made me look like Casper the friendly ghost! Halloween has started early at my place!
I bought the matching bag and headband from Accessorize in the summer sale. You may not be able to see in the photos, but both are beaded and look so pretty close up. The black dots on a white base is enough of a contrast with the dress to not need a shot of colour. The shoes feature two dotty prints, and brings the outfit together. I was going to wear ankle boots but changed my mind at the last minute. These shoes have a low heel but the left one really pinches my big toe…another pair of “sitting shoes”!

The more polka dots, the merrier! Great outfit
I don’t wear polka dots often. Don’t know why not, it’s very feminine.
I never used to either Nancy, but I’ve caught the polka dot bug!
Thanks so much for the feature, Emma! And I totally agree, I’m okay with venturing into Minnie Mouse territory, haha. I think the polka dot “monochrome” look you’ve created is really fun! And I didn’t even notice that the headband and purse match until you said so – love that.

Brilliantly done. IMHO, it’s hard to overdo it with polka dots and you’re mixing of opposite colorations was a fabulous idea. You look divine.

Thanks Cheryl! I may have to force myself to take a little break from them for a while, I don’t want to bore everyone!
Emma, this dress is super dreamy! I love the big dots and all the things that you mentioned that are swoon worthy about this beautiful dress! Can you wear it open like a jacket? I bet it would be so cute as a duster jacket over another dress, too. Thanks so much for the feature! What a lovely surprise!

Thanks Jill!
That is the right way to do head to toe polka dots. It is not for everyone but it looks killer on you and I love EVERY.SINGLE.PIECE.!! The purse, headband, earrings and ring were the perfect accessories for all the dots too as they each look like big dots or are made of dots. =) Thank you so much for featuring me, too.
