What glorious weather we’ve had over the Bank Holiday weekend! I enjoyed two days at home but was back at work yesterday for a long day. How I’d loved to have been at the Reading festival, enjoying the music and sunshine! Oh well, maybe next year.
We took these photos during a similarly warm and sunny spell a couple of weeks ago at my mum’s. When I say we, I mean Isobel and me (she’s quite keen to get either behind or in front of the camera!). During our stay we did a bit of shopping, including our usual visit to the local charity shops. This lime green pleated skirt and black vest are both charity shop bargains, costing less than £10 for the two! I wasn’t sure about the skirt at first, but when I got it home and tried it on I was glad I’d bought it.
I didn’t have my entire wardrobe at my disposal so I teamed it with nude sandals and my Jennifer Hamley bag. The zip off clutch comes in very handy for a quick day-to-night outfit change. However I mostly use it as a laptop bag. I took quite a lot of jewellery with me but somehow still didn’t have a bracelet that looked right with the outfit. So I looked through some old bits and pieces that are still in my bedroom at my mum’s and came across a gold bangle. That was just the job. I added a pair of earrings that I’d bought the previous day in John Lewis (£4 at half price), rose gold necklace and chunky Ottoman Hands ring.
On a completely different topic, somehow I managed to forget my eighth blog anniversary a few days ago! It was only when Shelbee said that she’d forgotten hers that I remembered! I published my first blog post on August 23rd 2011; it seems like such a long time ago now, but I honestly can’t remember what I did with my spare time before blogging!
My second blog post, which I published almost eight years ago to the day, is also set in my mum’s garden. The beautiful yellow flowers provided a charming late Summer backdrop then too.
