You probably know by now that I buy a lot of my clothes on eBay; I’ve found some really amazing bargains there, as well as tracking down sold out and out of season pieces. Admittedly it is a bit of gamble, especially if it’s not a brand you’re too familiar with. But sometimes it’s worth the risk – you can always relist it if it’s not suitable. Today’s outfit features not one, but two items from Ebay: the top and the skirt, which cost around £20 in total, including postage.

The Marks and Spencer metallic leather skirt was a real gem of a find – it wasn’t something I was looking for but when I saw it I immediately added it to my watch list…

The Marks and Spencer metallic leather skirt was a real gem of a find; it wasn’t something I was looking for but when I saw it I immediately added it to my watch list, fully expecting it to sell for anything up to £50. To my delight I snapped it up for £12 plus £4 postage! I was fairly confident it would fit ok as I have many items from M&S. However, I had no idea what to wear with it.

After picking out a few different sweaters and tees I settled on this Biba leopard print sheer top. It has a smattering of turquoise which co-ordinates with the skirt, while the orange provides contrast. A metallic leather skirt paired with a brightly coloured leopard print top is quite a statement-making outfit. With this in mind, I chose shoes in a predominantly nude shade with just a little orange to compliment the top.

Since we took these photos the weather has taken a turn for the worse…rain, hail, sleet and snow…we’ve had the lot so it may be some time before I get to wear this outfit again! It’s back to boots and tights for a while!
