What to Wear to a Blogger Event

Per Una frill teale top

On Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the NW Blogger meet up in Liverpool (more to come on that in my next post) which I’d been looking forward to for months. Of course when you’re going to be meeting up with a bunch of fellow bloggers you want to look your best, but comfort is also an important factor, especially when using public transport. Footwear was the starting point for choosing my outfit, and although I have a few pairs of flats I couldn’t resist wearing these new ones from Clarks which I bought in the sale the previous day. Despite my better judgement I made the rookie error of  wearing new shoes without testing them out properly beforehand…I was lulled into a false sense of security by how comfortable they felt, but by the time I got home they had rubbed my heels and made them quite sore! So my top tip is always wear shoes you’ve broken in before attempting to walk any distance in them! I wanted to wear one statement item and keep the rest of the outfit simple, so I opted for this frilled teale top from the Per Una Speziale range at Marks and Spencer – it’s really comfortable due to the stretch material, but the detailing makes a nice focal point for the outfit. A pair of skinny cropped jeans in dark denim and my trusty navy Zara blazer kept the look on the smart side of casual. I took a big bag so I could fit my camera in it as well as all the usual stuff us ladies can never be without!

Have you been to a blogger event? What did you wear? Let me know in the comments. I’ll be posting about the event later this week and showing you what was in the goody bag!

I really like the ruffle top (just my kind of thing)..then I have to admit to being genuinely surprised it was from Per Una! I have avoided this range because I thought it was trying too hard to be ‘different’ and just ended up being frumpy. Thank you for giving me the incentive to take another look. It’s all in the styling. XXX

In my area there are not any bloggers event and I really hope I can go to meet with other fellow bloggers! Oh well, maybe later I will find more bloggers nearby!

Thank you Samantha! It is surprising what you can find at M&S if you keep looking – I buy quite a few items from Ebay so get them at a really good price 🙂 I’m not too fond of shopping in-store as I find it a bit chaotic and I think the store layout doesn’t help overcome the frumpy image! xx

Thank you Grace! It was only the third blogger event I’ve been to, and the first one since I moved to the NW. It was lovely to meet other bloggers in the area and pick up some tips! Maybe you could organise one in your area? I’m planning to go to lots more and maybe travel a bit further afield, and hopefully attend some of the bigger events 🙂

Thanks Jess! Yes the blogger meet up was lots of fun, especially when the photographer decided to do a group photo next to the spray tan tent I was in! Luckily I had my underwear on to spare my blushes! xx
