The first day of October…wow, that came around quickly! Second Hand September may be officially over but that doesn’t mean an end to my thrifty finds! I picked up this Nathalie Vleeschouwer wrap dress on eBay for less than £10. (You may remember I recently featured a tropical print dress by the same brand.) The seller had listed another dress like this but in a different print…I’m very tempted to buy that too!
A wrap dress is one of those classic pieces that you can put on in a hurry and just add a few accessories. We all need outfits like that, right? The soft stretchy jersey fabric is both flattering and comfortable. As this dress falls just above the knee I will probably only wear it with tights, but the lightweight material makes it a great transitional dress. In colder weather I can layer a thin top underneath.
I was really drawn to the pattern of this dress, and the four colours give me plenty of options for accessorizing. I’ve picked out the orange here; I’m naturally drawn to warmer shades of brown, tan and orange at this time of year. When it’s time to start wearing coats again I’ll pair this dress with either of my green ones (seen here and here) or my long navy military coat. I have a really old orange coat at my mum’s that I may be able to give a new lease of life to. Bright, colourful coats are the sartorial highlights of Autumn/Winter for me. Expect to see plenty of them here over the coming months!
