The wedding of a special friend requires a special outfit and I’d been saving this Peter Pilotto dress for the occasion. It’s a label that’s usually out of my budget, but it was heavily reduced in a sale at the Outnet. Somehow I managed to bag it before the website got totally jammed by bargain-hunting fashionistas! When I bought it I was expecting the weather to be quite warm by mid May. However, the great British weather can never be relied upon. This meant I had to find something at the last minute to wear over the dress.
I was quite astonished at how little choice there is both on the high street and online. It seems the fashion buyers were expecting Summer by now too! Just as I was about to give up hope it was almost as if fate intervened and I stumbled upon a pop up designer discount shop on my lunch break. Within minutes of walking in I found this faux fur coat by Tibi heavily discounted. I didn’t need to think twice about snapping it up! On the day of the wedding it kept me warm and felt so lovely and soft. I know I’ll get lots of wear out of it…faux fur never goes out of style does it?
I was planning on wearing some sparkly silver shoes but at the last minute I changed my mind. The colourway of these sandals from Nine West compliment the colours in the dress, and they’re really comfortable. I finished the outfit off with a beaded clutch from Accessorize and silver jewellery, including a ring I made myself.
