Today’s look is a casual ensemble, the kind of outfit I typically wear when travelling. There are certain components that make up the ideal travel outfit for me: comfortable trousers, a T-shirt, jacket, hat, sunglasses, trainers and a crossbody bag for money/card, documents and phone. Obviously, for a flight I also take a roomy tote bag to carry my valuables, laptop, snacks and a book. My quest for comfortable trousers that don’t make me feel slobby is an ongoing quest. (I found a fabulous green pair in a charity shop still with tags on yesterday!). I bought these peachy satin joggers in Madeira last month, from a little shopping centre in Funchal. While I was there I also bought this crossbody bag, so along with my new-ish hat, I’ve combined shades of orange with leopard print for a colourful outfit for travelling or running errands.
I bought this Scotch & Soda jacket on eBay a few years ago but haven’t worn it before. Usually, I take my blue denim jacket because it just goes with anything, but leopard print makes a great alternative…it is a neutral after all, right? The only drawback with this jacket is the cropped sleeves; my thinking is, if you need a jacket then surely you want to cover your arms…would you agree? If the sleeves were full length I’m sure I’d wear this jacket a lot. I suppose I could wear it over a top with long sleeves – maybe even flared sleeves to make a feature of them.
On the subject of exposed flesh. when I bought these trousers I thought the mesh sections had a lining. In fact, that was just the pockets and from the mid thigh down there is only mesh covering the sides of my legs. (I did try them on in the shop and still didn’t realise!). As they are close in shade to my flesh tone it’s not that obvious though. It does mean they are very airy and ideal for a warm day. I wore this outfit (minus the hat) to go shopping last week – it really wasn’t the weather! Not only was it chilly (and drafty around my legs) but it also rained. I don’t know what has happened to our weather lately, it has felt more like autumn some days!

I actually like the sleeves like that. It’s a summer jacket right, so who needs long sleeves. I never liked orange that much as I do this season. And you prove that it looks good with any colour!
What a fun outfit, Emma!
I much prefer jackets that have full length sleeves too—I don’t see the point of a shorter sleeve!

Emma, these joggers are so fun! I love the sheer meshy part on the legs. But I imagine they would be drafty on a cooler day. I really like that you went with the leopard jacket instead of a basic blue denim jacket although a blue denim jacket would look equally cute with this outfit!

I totally adore this outfit, Emma! The colors are fabulous. The orange and leopard is great combination. And no, I can’t tell by looking that the mesh isn’t lined.

The orange accessories and pants are the perfect complement to your leopard print jacket. And those sparkly gold sneakers are just the best! Pinned to my fashion board.
