This month’s Style Not Age theme of “Spring to Summer” is quite appropriate, given that it’s still spring but it definitely feels like summer! Temperatures have been in the 30s in some parts of the UK and it’s taken us all by surprise – in the same way that any extreme weather takes Brits by surprise. I do love the longer days and warm evenings though, sitting in the garden, watching the bats flit around overhead.
My spring to summer piece is this cute crocheted cardigan featuring tomatoes, cherries, hearts and flowers. I spotted it on the sale rail in TK Maxx and was instantly drawn to it. To my delight, it was reduced to £12! There were quite a lot of loose threads, which is probably why it was reduced, but I easily trimmed them all off. I didn’t really think too much about what I’d wear it with, but after a few outfit changes I decided on a red base of trousers and a vest top to allow the green and white in the cardigan to stand out.
One other thing I picked up in TK Maxx was this gorgeous beaded bucket bag, also featuring tomatoes. I’d seen a lot of these beaded Mirasol bags on Vinted, all at around the £50 mark. However, they are considerably cheaper at TK Maxx, so I can only guess that sellers are trying their luck! My tip when buying a new-to-you brand on Vinted is to always search for it elsewhere first. Only then will you know if you’re truly getting a bargain. The stock at TK Maxx varies from store to store and online, so if there’s a particular design you’re looking for, keep checking regularly.
To complete the outfit, I added beaded cherry earrings, red sunglasses and ivory backless loafers. I also attached a cherry bag charm for extra novelty.
